And who would even want a yellow car that is not a Proto?
I did!
I didn’t see the point of a proto..not knocking anyone who did, just didn’t myself….mainly because I didn’t like the wheels, so the cost wasn’t worth it for me.
At present the yellow coupe is rarer than the yellow proto

I was in a similar boat

hard to choose between blue and yellow.

and was not planning on keeping stock wheels so why proto.

till I saw a proto and the wheels and now.

regrets.

But not enough to change from my blue order.

I think the Proto"s bronze wheels would look amazing on the blue Performance/Coupe.

Talked to dealer today, no news, cars that he had previously offered are not even built or shipped.
On the plus side he said by the time it arrives it will be cheaper because I'll qualify for pensioner rego by then

I wouldn't count on this. With Toyota's announcement on price rises, I reckon it will be interesting to see if others follow suit.

If I were a sceptic, they may just try it on and go through their list. Though, each dealership probably only has less then 10 people on a waitlist, so individually they probably don't feel like they have a big pool of buyers lined up.

Perhaps when more are on the road, they may develop a bit more of a following / demand. When parked the other day at a cafe, two people were looking at it, thought it was cool, but decided it was just a modified 370. ha ha ha.

Some people have been saying as much on Facebook and that it will be released by the end of the year. But there has been zero word from Nissan about it as usual. Some dealers seem to have had it confirmed and others have no idea about it.

The national Nissan conference for dealers was in Brisbane last week, so they should all know. ;)

Any idea why Nissan would annouce it there but a week later still haven't said anything publicly?

It's an internal announcement, that pre-dates the factory marketing releases. There will be lots of other more important, based on volume, announcements over the next few weeks and months I would guess...

I don’t hold out much hope…they can’t even get the regular coupes out.
If the Nismo lands before long standing Coupes are filled they will have a riot on their hands
I will never do a pre order with Nissans again I’m afraid.
I’ll wait till they come out, and if one’s available and I have the means I’ll buys one then
As the saying goes….fool me once shame on you, fool me twice it’s on me

So just a quick update on my purchase.
The Z4 was due a service. Anyone who has ever bought a second hand car knows how nerve wracking the first service is.
Who was the last owner?
Did they look after or smash the car?
Was the car due for a big service?
Or was there an issue with the car which was what led to them selling it in the first place that is going to cost $$$ to be fixed….particularly when it’s a European car.

I’m happy to report it came back with flying colours. The service was covered under a pre bought plan and not a single thing needed fixing.
I literally spent 0

Can’t tell you how relieved I felt …and now I’m even happier
Getting the silver grill replaced with a black one, but other than that, nothing further to be done.

I’m still interested in the Z, but now I can wait until the Nismo is available to buy rather than go on another never ending wait list
