My wife thinks the delays are good as the longer it takes her car gets to stay in the garage before going out to the driveway for the Z, to me makes sense to keep the newer cars in the garage.
Now she will want a new Qashqai based on my thinking?
I agree. I still need to find storage ?

Nissan aren't making 370s anymore and prob not a lot of GTRs either. They should have plenty of capacity.
...except for the Qashqai, Pathfinder and X-trail all launching right about now as well...
Sports car owners may not like to hear this, but a whole lot of parts get shared with other models... parts with silicone chips.

Yep, but they knew that when they decided to launch them all at the same time

...except they're no longer making the old versions of these either. The overall number of vehicles/models they're trying to produce hasn't really changed. Or has it?

I'll concede the number of new Zs they need to pump out would be way more than the last few years of 370z production

I wasn't trying to be definitive either though... ultimately there are two main factors affecting vehicle production globally: staffing (due to Covid/Monkeypox mainly) and microprocessors.

It wasn't like they just decided to make a range of new vehicles on a whim. There are strategic advantages to doing a new 'range', and they would have been decided years (maybe even a decade?) ago, when the issues above simply weren't' a thing.

Meh, I think my overall thoughts are "it's complicated". I work closely with automotive manufacturers, and manufacturers in general, and they are all in the same boat. No one is immune from current manufacturing and supply chain issues.

Thats true…no one is, but many are dealing with it far better
My point, they may not have known about it before it was planned but they certainly knew about it well before the release…perhaps they should not release a model they can not actually produce

vicroads rego check

Compliance plate / RAV entry date:
05/2022

that's put on when it's built so it's a May build then ahd to be shipped and such.

also
Registration status & expiry date:
Current - 25/05/2023

so was regoed 26th May which matches a May build

the media ones as per wheels (and what my dealer mentioned) were pre productions ones so no vin and cannot be regoed.

Fair enough…still hard to get excited about one car going from place to place for 2 months

They dont have dealer/manufacturer's desinated plate in Australia?
What’s that?
Our cars have plates registered by state.
If it’s for a dealer demo, the car is not generally registered….each dealer had plates that they use until they get a buyer, they can be swapped from car to car in that dealer. If the car moved to a different dealer they would use their dealers plates. It only gets its real rego plates when the buyer registers it

Like here there's a MFR or DEALER on the plate to show it's manufactuer's / dealer's plate. US plates are similar.
