Hi guys reposting this from another thread that I just added

Ok, so after feeling rather frustrated and getting more tempted into buying the Elise ( pictures in the link in my other post) I thought…that’s it, I’m gonna go see my dealer and ask what in the heck is going on

would you believe it, walked in and Nissan Corporate Australia was actually there at the exact same time.
without mentioning my thoughts on defection, my dealer saw me coming waltzed up and said…you never guess what they were just telling us about.
The Nissan Z should be in Aus late June early July.

My dealer now has 30 registered orders, but is only expecting to get 6 in for the first run….lucky I’m number 2 on the list

So now I’m going…I can wait till June, by then we should have details all locked in if not a car, and if it’s not then I’ll go elsewhere.

Interestingly he did say that the smaller screen only is not actually locked in yet, and they are not sure if they will get, the bigger screen, and probably won’t know until the car is almost here…so there is hope

Of course I’ll believe it when I see it, not the first time Ive been told something, but the fact the corporate guy actually backed him up whilst i was there is positive

Nice @West Aussie Which dealership did you order through? I've filled out the reserve form but not heard anything yet. I've had 2x 370Z.... you'd think they'd get in touch but nothing yet.....

I’m at Osborne Park…you should have heard by now, and if not I’d go into your nearest dealership, as I have an actual written contract now as I know many of the guys do on this page. The dealer you got sent to may be being lazy.
I believe Osborne Park is one of two that are set up for the Nismo etc, so may get more than some of the smaller dealers

one of the other reasons I went into check up, is the dealership has moved down the road, and now has a different address, I wanted to make sure it would not affect the contract, which the guys tell me it will not, as it’s the dealer number that’s important

Good Luck

Thanks mate. Just spoke to them. They're estimating $89k drive away... Bit more than I had thought. Bit of a step up from old Z prices.

for a performance one in blue... which I was shocked by... they did say it was an estimate though... and that if prices were to change they'd contact the people with orders in. apparently 15 people have already deposits down.

same dealer as you. (Osb park)

Well even that’s different to what I was told as he said he had 30 on the list now…but maybe he was talking 30 on the list but only 15 with a deposit.

I know when I put my order in ( April last year) they said they would put 80k on the contract as they felt that would be the upper limits and they would prefer people to not have a horrible shock ….perhaps this is what they have done now
Im going to try not to panic till anything concrete is released…I agree 89k is too much

$89k is way too much that would potentially put the Proto Spec at close to $100k!

If that price is correct then all the talk about how it was going to significantly undercut the Supra was just a lie if it is going to cost the same as a Supra.

I am hoping that it was a mistake and was meant to be $79k or better yet $69k driveway lol.

If that price turns out to be true then I think there will be a lot of cancellations as most people expected it to be in the $70's and by that starting in the low $70's.

agreed Tdog! it is too much. $80k I could swallow but that's the limit.

Yeah $80k is my limit also.

I might stretch to absolute max of $85k for the Proto Spec I have on order but I am 50/50 on that.

Definitely anymore than that and I am out.

I don't really need a new car, my M140i is only 4 years old and is very low km's as I only use it when I am on my breaks from work. It was more just to change things up.

If that price actually turns out to be true which I hope is not the case then I will probably wait for the S650 generation Mustang as hopefully that will be reasonably priced. Only downside is that is isn't the nicest vehicle around and they are common as hell. On the plus side I would at least have a chance of owning a V8 in my life.
