I've decided to wash my Z at home based on a few posts I've seen on this forum and the fact this this is the first car I've had with a ceramic coating.

I think the hand washing has gone well so far except for the windows. I can't seem to clean them without leaving behind streaks.

I'm following this method.

Maybe my microfiber towels aren't good enough? Maybe I let them get too wet? What am I doing wrong?

Any advice from you fine folks?

Once I got the ceramic coat put on, all I do is pressure wash it, then foam cannon, then rinse. I use my air compressor to blow most of the water off and I use a new micro-fiber towel to dry whats left including the windows. Then a ceramic coat detailer to get any stubborn bugs. Maybe try putting some rain-ex on the glass. See if that helps.

In my opinion, you can't beat white vinegar and newspaper for window cleaning.

What ceramic detailer do you use? This is my first ceramic-coated car, and I'm looking for detailing product recommendations.

I use Chemical Guys hydrocharge. This is my first car with ceramic coating, too. But after the first hand wash I did and seeing all those swirl marks on the black roof, my OCD made me get the ceramic coating.

I had the car ceramic coated with Opti-Coat Pro+, and I'm using the Optimum No Rinse (ONR) to wash. I went over the windows again, and I think I did a better job this time. Maybe it just takes some practice.

Good to know. My car is at the shop getting front PPF and Opti-Coat Pro+ on the rest as I type this.

For windows, I sometimes don't apply any product to the exterior after drying. I will clean the interior with Chemical Guys streak free window cleaner. Spray on glass, spray on towel, clean/scrub, turn towel over or grab a dry towel to finish. It's important to apply moderate pressure and always have a clean towel. I like to clean windows when cool and in the shade or indoors.

CarPro Reload is a good product for Ceramic Coatings. One spray on the panel, one spray on the towel and wipe on and off. Will protect the ceramic coating and help make it last a long time.
