My Z will dim the headlights in the same section of road every night on my drive home from work. Sometimes the dash will have the these warning lights (see video), but most of the time the lights dim, and will not automaticaly go back to bright, with no indication anything is wrong. I can still manually switch between bright and dim, but in the auto setting they wont work. What is werid is that the section of road that it does this on is very dark. I live in a very low population density area, so I rarely meet other cars on my drive home, and there are no streetlamps or even bright signs along the stretch of road that could cause the headlights to dim if the sensor mistakes the light for another car. Every other road I drive the headlights work fine, but for some reason my middle of nowhere stretch of road near my house my Z hates

Any ideas what could cause this, or what a solution might be?

There was another post about this from awhile back I saw, but a resolution was never found in that post, and its well over a year old now.

Thanks!

Mine does the same thing with the sensors and lights on the dash from time to time. I found out they will either stop on their own, or they will stop when you get behind somebody. Have you noticed this too? It’s like they get lost.

About the headlights, that’s weird. I’ve had to change from auto to select headlights to keep my brights on in a stretch where someone has bright gate lights. With no lights and only on a certain stretch, maybe somebody has some weird UV security sensors that interfere with the system.

Yeah, the warning lights will eventually figure themselves out and go away. That video was taken the morning after they first came on, so power cycles don't reset it. But they did go out on their own a few minutes into driving. It must be some software glitch that confuses the car. Glad to see this is a fairly common expirence.
