Since buying my 25’ Z Performance I have been planning modifications and ordering all the right parts for your standard bolt on tune and upgrades. However with a bit more research and discussions I am now considering moving forward with buying aftermarket turbos.
My parts list and mods so far are as follows;

AMS CAI - installed
Borla s type full exhaust - installed
AMS catted street LDP’s - installed
I also changed out the plastic oil pan for an aftermarket.

on back order I have the AMS heat exchanger and I am also going to order either AMS or Mishimoto intercoolers and a catch can.

After reading about the limitations of the stock turbos and wanting to get to 550whp on pump gas I am now taking things up a notch and looking at new turbos and getting an HD clutch while the engine is out for the turbos.

I have read about cars with both the z1 VRX60’s and the VRX70’s. I have seen both making similar power on pump gas and given that they are the same price I am wondering which route is the best way to go and if they differ on the fuel system upgrades I need to make. It’s my belief that since I am not going for big HP numbers past 550 and not planning to do a flex fuel system and tune I can get by with the factory HPFP and just add the LPFP. Is this accurate? Also what other additional parts am I missing that are required for the turbo upgrade.

I will add that I will bite the bullet and go with a high flow catted full down pipe and sell the AMS street LDP’s. Sucks that I made this planning error but as I said my plans have evolved while I have been waiting for back ordered parts.

If I was not in a rush, I would wait to see what the Concept Z kit ends up looking like. I would imagine it would be out soon but based on what we have seen it looks like the kit will be using Garrett G25-550s.

you will need to upgrade HP and LP fuel pumps and also injectors. do your research as these parts are quite pricey

From what I have read so far if your not doing flex fuel E tune (at least on the vrx60’s) you only need to upgrade the LPFP. I will continue to do my research. I am aware of what I am getting into from a price perspective to include all the labor to pull the motor etc etc. I have no issues spending $20k on this car as the price point I was able to buy it at gives me some latitude to have some fun.
