I got the word today the McLaren I scheduled to drive in the Extreme Driving Experience Friday is down for repairs. They hooked me up with the C8.

What an impressive feat of engineering. More than anything, I love how it raises the bar for what's possible w/ NA V8's. Like, way to take something Ferrari has done for so long and be like, "hold my beer and watch this!"

Can't wait to see how ze Germans and of course, the Italians respond.

Impressive indeed. Love the sound of high-revving flat-plane crank V8.
I would really worry about the reliability of that engine, though.

Z06 has the overhead cam flat plane crankshaft 5.5L V8.

The Z06 engine shares parts with the Corvette Racing Team engines, and they're hand-assembled.

Reason? $$$$$$$$

The waitlist is so long that you have to wait for 2-3 yrs at least to get one, unless you are willing to pay ADM...
A Texan dealer had more than 1000 customers on its waitlist w/ $1000 deposit down.
As Donalex said, the engine is hand-built to carefully balance it, thanks to the 8600 redline.
Chevy is not going to be able to produce lots of Z06s.
