Aside from the SavageGeese track comparison, not really. I think the Z is only materially in the hands of reviewers and youtubers at the moment, so bone stock or loaded up with AMS gear it seems. I would expect that type of info to start filtering out once owners have had it for a while.
I don't want to dismiss the possibility of the 2nd gear grind being an issue, but it's just too early to say imo. I suspect if there is a persistent issue, Nissan will address it.
Yeah I'm keen to see if the dark horse is offered here. The mach 1 only made it here in such limited numbers that...
Why the hostility dude?
Everyone knows what the (current) mustang is and isn't and can make a decision for themselves. I don't personally like the interior, and the issues I've heard from owners and the well publicised issues with the MT-82 put me off. If I really wanted the v8 I'd probably...
Yeah this could have played out a lot worse all things considered. A different split second decision and either could have easily ended up going over. I sometimes see these collisions and wonder how it would have played out if one were on a motorbike. Just bad times all around.
I was surprised that it wasn't higher up the list until I realised they ran the automatic 86. 2/5 cars arriving in untestable condition really gives some insight into how hard these cars are being driven.
An 86 with a factory turbo would be a very compelling option. I'd be reconsidering the Z...
I assume they all were tbh. He's an idiot, but it won't excuse the truck being on the wrong side of the road without visibility on what's coming around the corner.
I figured something was off. I'm going to need a degree to stay on top of the BMW model numbering ?
Yeah saving 20k upfront is never a bad thing, let alone with cheaper financing. What does the 6cyl Supra work out to in Canada? It seems pretty closely priced in the US, but not so much here.
I don't have a good gauge on car prices in North America, but is the 440i a Z competitor on price? Here in AU an M440i xDrive is ~140k compared to the Z at ~82k. A 420i is 85k for example. The entry grade 6 cyl Supra is also ~95k and jumps to ~106k for the top grade. So there is quite a spread...
I mean I don't think there is a right and a wrong way to shop for a sports car, and I agree that other types of cars offer better comfort/practicality. At the performance level these cars are at though, I'd trade a small amount of performance for better daily drivability.
If I were chasing a...
Agreed RE: the 86. It's a great car and the best value of the options imo. It isn't fast though, and I think anyone buying one has made peace with that already.
Having the best specs/numbers in the category are not super relevant to my daily driving needs. Other factors like visibility, build...
If the 86 was actually fast, rather than just feeling fast I think this comparison would be taken a lot more seriously. The Z obviously isn't tuned for maximum corner speed, but I still think it's the more complete sports car.
That's the rub really. If you're after a manual the MT-82 still feels like a gamble, whether it really is any more or not. Otherwise an auto GT w/ magneride & recaros is great value imo, which it hopefully continues to be in the new generation.
I'm quite happy that anyone seeing the keyfob will think it's for a plain old Nissan. I'd rather not run into awkward office conversations about buying expensive toys.
