  1. Hands Up all the Aussies

Very similar. I had a pre-order from a little before yours and was given estimated delivery dates 'a few months' away several times without any real confirmation. I think a few people on here have gotten manufacturing confirmation in the last month or two which is a big step up, but imo it...
  2. Finely tuned for enthusiasts: the all-new Nissan Z

Though in fairness, only a few cars avoid criticism relating to EPAS.
  3. Splash Guards and Spare Tire

I don't think there's a usable cavity for the spare, as that's where the subwoofer is. You might be able to swap that out though
  4. Hands Up all the Aussies

They should offer an exhaust option, or use the valved exhaust from the auto on the manual imo. An aftermarket exhaust on the manual Z was a must for me, and having a better option without jeopardising warranty would have done a lot to keep my interest. Though if this anything to go by, I'd...
  5. Hands Up all the Aussies

I think we're all just tired of waiting for the Z to actually launch. I wouldn't blame anyone with the means to jump the queue for doing so, and it's really Nissan and their terrible production output that's letting us down. I've lost confidence that I'll see a car in the near future and have...
  6. Anyone going to change the steering wheel?

Hard pass on the yoke. The stock wheel feels really good to hold imo. I didn't buy into the GTR-inspired back story, but they might have been onto something.
  7. Hands Up all the Aussies

Ahh damn. I was hoping the Z would be "old school" enough to miss the rev hang. Does it do it at low/mid revs too?
  8. Zs are already being resold...

I guess a $1 lien isn't the end of the world if it settles the flipping down. Other finance only arrangements sound like they would skew the financials for people looking to make a cash purchase. Of course, flipping would be a non issue if Nissan could actually produce cars to meet even a basic...
  9. Hands Up all the Aussies

Yeah Nissans production is shite, but I mean they've done the right thing in addressing the gearbox issue. It actually makes me think they care about the quality of the vehicle they deliver, unlike say Subaru with the RTV sealant issue on the BRZ/GR86.
  10. Hands Up all the Aussies

I mean fair is fair, they seem to be fixing it without a fuss. I just don't think they have enough predictability in their production line to state the impact on delivery.
  11. Nissan Z vs Toyota Supra

His summary of which car to buy is what I've been trying to weigh up. The Supra performs a bit better, but at some expense to daily livability and additional cost. I'm still leaning toward the Z as a daily because I don't think I'd be able to get value out of the extra performance without...
  12. Everyday Driver - Nissan Z vs GR86 & 370z Review

I don't agree with the muscle car claims, but It's not as agile or stiff as the 86. It is substantially faster and more refined esp on average to poor roads though. I didn't have a chance to really load the Z up on the corners, but I could tell it would need aftermarket suspension to be able to...
  13. Hands Up all the Aussies

I hope it's less than that, but I have a bad feeling you might be right. The Mach 1 was supposedly $83k before on roads a couple years back, so maybe if Ford bucks the current trend of jacking up prices.. ?
  14. Hands Up all the Aussies

Did they give you indicative pricing on the Dark Horse @Hammo25 ? I'm interested to see how it and the S650 GT are priced relative to the Z and Supra.
  15. Hands Up all the Aussies

I think the Supra just sneaks in under 100k if you pick the GT grade. Apparently an Aussie over on the SupraMKV forums has been allocated a batch number for the 6MT too. All in all not a great time to be buying a car, but like you said, not much to do except wait.
  16. Hands Up all the Aussies

According to this guy, it sounds like they recommend varying the engine speed rather than just straight up sitting on cruise control, but otherwise don't mention anything about long drives. I reckon you'd be in the clear. When I get mine, I'll be taking it on longer drives over a couple of...
  17. Manual Z delivery delays

I've been looking around and reconfirming my options, so have been lurking a few Mustang forums. Have you test driven the Z? I'm curious to know how people think the two compare on road in terms of agility and ride quality. I recently took the Z for a test drive and was kind of surprised by the...
  18. Hands Up all the Aussies

Almost certainly nothing will go wrong. It's just an arbitrary limit so that the components have a chance to wear in gently. Whether Nissan has the diagnostics to prove it was/wasn't followed, and if they'd use it to try to deny a warranty claim is another thing. The demo cars certainly aren't...
  19. 2025 Porsche Boxster EV Spied Testing

Hopefully they can keep the mid-engine dynamics. I can't see myself buying an EV sports car while ICE equivalents exist, but this at least gives hope that they won't all be appliances by the time I'm out of options.
  20. AMS Performance Nissan Z up to 719 WHP and runs 9.92s @ 137mph quarter mile!

Given HP is just torque (in ft-lbs) x RPM divided by 5252, the differences are going to be down to when peak torque arrives and how its sustained into higher revs. The Z build will be hitting peak torque later than your Supra for example. There would be a myriad of reasons why, e.g. differences...
