I’m out at Chatswood Nissan, they have 2 Proto’s here (auto and manual). They look incredible! Worth the wait. They’re taking deposits for the unannounced nismo Z, so I put one down, not gonna miss out on an early allocation again after this nightmare.

Thanks for this, came up as $105 a month which is cheaper than AAMI. Weirdly my GR Yaris with the same company is $117 a month, it’s insured for $25k less so I have no idea how that works

All good, I just found out AAMI do ridiculously cheap quotes, they ask more questions and because I don’t drive it in peak hour traffic the insurance costs way less.

Scratch that, aami just quoted me $1550 somehow, I’ll take it

Yeah that’s fair, but it would have been nice to at least have the Z logo on it like the previous model. Being very nitpicky though lol

Yeah I had a deposit for a Corolla as well, couldn’t afford both unfortunately and was sick of waiting. And hate to break it to you but I’m pretty sure the Aus auto’s don’t have the better sounding exhaust from what I’ve heard

If it makes you feel better I’d say Auto Proto’s look to be pretty rare, at least we got that going for us lol, I caved in and got a GR Yaris to tide me over in the manual department and it’s such a good car

That really sucks, I’d say your dealer took their time when the order books opened for the Proto’s, even though you technically put your name down in September, it doesn’t seem to matter. I know for a fact people who ordered in October received a manual Proto, so these first in line lists can’t...

Auto Proto

Don’t worry I have an Auto too, even though I ordered a manual haha

A bit of a nitpick but god the key is so basic, even my 370Z said “Z” on the top, the key is no different to a base model pulsar

So I bought a GR Yaris Rallye. Honestly this is the best car I’ve ever driven in stock form, I’m incredibly impressed. Gonna keep the Proto as a garage queen and keep its value, really didn’t want to be driving an auto around when I’ve been waiting this long.

Can confirm this, I had a manual 370z nismo and 1st to 2nd had to be very precise, it’s not something you can shift aggressively like other cars. It was still a great gearbox though.
