Z1 makes upgraded rotors, pads and brake lines to upgrade them. This YouTuber just posted a video on it about a month ago. Seems like a good way to go…
I’m also in camp manual performance and making it your own! The NISMO will probably be great but for the cost difference you can make a performance better. Also Bambi is a dick!
Agreed! Also on the tire wear issue it’s definitely possible the selling dealer didn’t check the alignment, or doesn’t when in for servicing. It’s a long boat ride from Japan and a lot can happen on the roads in 5000 miles! Also never underestimate a heavy foot!
Totally for both questions! It does lose the boaty/floaty feeling over bumps and becomes more firm but it’s a sports car! Overall still very compliant and comfortable, maybe a little more jarring over a really bumpy surface but not bad in my opinion. Totally worth doing! Also I did the NISMO...
I know there are some good aftermarket options, especially with HKS. I went with the NISMO option to stay more OEM. They are lower to mid priced (should be able to get them around $1500 delivered), mine are still set on the softer side (4 clicks from softest) but can be firmed up a lot to your...
Update…
So before I go down the aftermarket route (and losing some safety), pay through the noise for Nismo seats and give up the power function (which I could care less about) and heater (don’t want to give up!), or worse say f’ it and get something different! I thought I’d try and find a...
Update…. A few weeks ago I put on the NISMO covers and stabilizer bars. Definitely helped in the handling feel department. Maybe slightly more steering feel but ever so slightly. I kept the factory control arms and maybe that is the next upgrade to make the suspension more adjustable to help...
Totally agreed! I have the suspension part handled but not sure I want to sacrifice the comfort to shed 200-300 lbs but if it could lose that it’d be almost as playful as the twins with the reliable HP every twin owner wishes for!
I think you might be on to something. I just did the same thing to my NISMO intakes and I have the Z1 hotbox which bumps the PSI to 17/18 and since doing that it seems much more responsive!
Good thoughts, I came from a GR86 with performance pack. I really loved the chassis and its toss-able playfulness. While it was a second car I wanted to do some longer road trips with it and I just found the engine to buzzy over 65 and road noise is pretty high for it being a coupe. I do wish...
I just did it to mine, wrist was definitely starting to get shaky about half way through the second lid! Excited to take it out shortly after I clean up all the mess! In case anyone needs freedom units it’s a 1/8” drill bit for me!
