For the price you could get something that will sound better and offer better performance from aftermarket exhaust makers (Fast Intentions, Z1, HKS, Motordyne, ARK, etc.). I wouldn't waste the money on this exhaust unless you're headstrong on keeping the car 100% OEM.
If I recall Nissan claimed the reason was something about "emission and noise regulations" with manual cars wouldn't allow them to have a louder exhaust or some BS like that.
Sounds like more aggressive, louder HKS exhaust. HKS is one of the best sounding Q60 exhausts IMO. If you pair downpipes with this exhaust it'll probably sound pretty close.
The Z should basically sound exactly the same.
I agree with this. A new set of better tires will run you ~$1200. Majority of drivers will be perfectly fine with the factory tires. If you want a better use of your money for performance put that $1200 into a heat exchanger, cat back exhaust and down pipes, or air intake.
Yeah I was kinda confused by the sound. Did not sound any different than stock. Not sure what catback they put on there but it sounds lackluster. Needs downpipes and a less restricted muffler catback.
Yet again proving the new Z is not worth more than $45k USD. They're trying to push a brand "new" car when in reality it's just a 370Z with the VR30 motor and some minor upgrades to the interior to make it feel modern. It still falls short by todays standards and competition in most aspects though.
"Avoid driving for long periods at constant speed, either fast or slow.
Do not run the engine over 4,000 rpm.
Do not accelerate at full throttle in any gear.
Avoid quick starts.
Avoid hard braking as much as possible. "
What is considered fast or slow? ?
I mean, I can't believe they didn't at least think to put a "Proto Spec" emblem on the rear next to Z or something. I really feel like they did the bare minimum.
