Fuel leaks seem solved. No more gas smell. Milage is back up. I haven't had a chance to go over the service paperwork, maybe this weekend. I'll share if I get some time.
Speaking of CA Highway 1 through Big Sur. I just drove it last Sunday, alas not in the Z. We needed my wife's five-seater...
So disappointed. After seeing two Zs in two days on the trip from San Diego to San Francisco, I've seen zero on the return trip from SF to Santa Barbara. I saw more Waymos in SF thanks Zs on this whole trip so far. Well, tomorrow is LA. There is still hope.
Another day, another sighting: this time I was northbound on 101. A black Z (not sure If NISMO, Performance, or Sport) was southbound on 101 just north of Paso Robles.
No picture because we were probably closing on each other at 150mph. I said, "Look, hon, another Z." She looked up from her...
Now I've seen five (still in single digits). Spotted this one on northbound 5 in the carpool lanes right before the 5-405 split. Credit LeAnne for the photo. We were in her F-PACE.
Thanks for the excellent write-up @qellman32, now that the original '23s are falling out of warranty (or simply running through wear items), it's good to see what we might expect down the road.
That the worst kind of accident, in my opinion. There is zero excuse for the driver of a car to rear end you. You're front and center. How can any competent driver miss that? Or more importantly, the Z is small, so that driver should see not only you but what's going on in front of you.
I...
@RobotAZ, you're the one who made me realize this. I know you parted with your Z, but the Nissan Kicks loaner I had was pretty quiet. Getting back into the Z, I regained that buzzing in the left ear from the seatbelt guide. Didn't realize how much I missed that...

I'd be getting the "Z Sport" version of the M4, if I pull the trigger.
BTW, when I got the car back today, they'd turned off SRM (maybe the tech who did the test drives likes to heel-toe) Anyway, I didn't realize that SRM was off until I let the clutch out and the car lurched...
Good news! I have my Z back now. I'll review the paperwork in a bit, but the summary from the service advisor is, "Deformed fuel injector caused leak. They replaced it along with several one-time-use parts, and it's good to go."
When I picked it up, it was registering 16mpg. The car itself was...
Quick notes on current status.
Summary: current status is unknown.
Original estimate of repair completion was yesterday (had to wait for parts, then reassemble the intake system, etc.)
We played phone tag all day yesterday. Three calls from me to them without connecting to the service advisor...
