Apparently there's 30 Proto cancellations in the system right now. I'd call the dealer.
Or maybe that was 30 Proto reservations that missed out on an allocation. ?
- So sorry a lot of rapid-fire information today.

Early Coupé orders and those that missed out on their Proto reservation get the next allocations, supposedly all within the next few weeks.

As others have said, everything is organised out of Nissan HQ in Melbourne and interestingly dealers have been told that customers will be contacted individually with allocation confirmation before the dealerships.

Only primary dealerships will be offered a demonstration vehicle (I assume at a healthy discount) but yeah they must be kept for 9 months. Thankfully early allocations are expected to arrive before these.

I don't think that the latest bulletin had much else.

I requested an Aussie section so we can have more threads and now we have one :)
I requested that back when I started this thread? well done.
To be honest I like having one thread for all Aussie news because it’s easy to find, but each to their own

So your dealer let you look at his bulletin …what a legend.

So what I take from this is when I get an unknown caller from Melbourne in the next few weeks I should not pick up the phone in a very grumpy voice thinking it’s a scam?

Oh maybe it was yours request that got it then?

It's good to have one thread for general news, but as a noob I missed all the topics discussed. :(
Particularly the personalised plates talk

So just got an unknown call from Melbourne….I was in a fitness test for a new job and couldn’t answer.
I have been getting a lot of crank calls from Melbourne as well…but now I’m paranoid
Tried to call back and it says it won’t connect because of system issues.

It got me thinking…most of us work in some form, so it’s conceivable most will miss calls placed during the day.
Surely they should leave a message to call back, or email if you miss a call?

Just had a chat with Sydney dealer, pretty much confirmed our thinking, Nissan Australia looking after the allocation of cars by order date, when confirmed by them your dealer should then contact you.
So basically I suppose then that dealers are not getting a certain allocation each

So the dealer will contact us not Nissan directly?
Good to know

Good point! I typically don't answer unknown calls.. Especially from VIC or NSW.

That's my understanding. No specific allocation for dealerships and customers are meant to be contacted directly by Nissan.. In saying that, going off Nissans track record of reaching out to customers, there's a good chance dealers might hear the news first.

My dealer said, and I quote "If the next conversation regarding your car is with me, someone else hasn't done their job properly."

Just had a phone call from my NSW dealer. The first shipment of protos will be 50 cars and they have been given to the first preorders. I was November last year but have not made the list for the first 50 so when ever the next lot come through I might get on that. A total of 500 protos are being made and Australia will see 120.

Wow, there must have been many more early orders than we realise.

I'd love to know if there's any Coupés in this shipment. I've heard rumours of Protos, Coupés and possibly a few demo allocations arriving first up.
