One thing about allocations.
Car Expert says over 1000 people have already put their money down.
Given there are only 91 Nissan dealers in Australia, that would mean every dealer would need to get around 11 cars to fill everyone’s orders…thats not gonna happen, at least not in the first deliveries.
I reckon we will be lucky to get half of that

There will be a lot of disappointed people out there that’s for sure, and I’m not sure why Nissan would not be warning new deposits that it’s going to be a bit of a wait, as it’s only going to annoy those who miss out more…after all they took the money easy enough.

I’m still nervous as to if I’ll get a car and I put my money down a year ago, and am the first on my dealerships list ….next few weeks is going to be interesting 😬
you have no need to be nervous, you'd have been one of the first with a deposit down.

Doesn’t mean they will get a yellow non proto manual….and if they are not offering what else they get allocated, you just never know….especially in WA were we seem to be forgotten about half the time ( not that I blame anyone for that …except maybe our current premier 🤣🤣)

But thanks for the boost 🙂

Had further chats with the dealers today. After first shipment they're expecting deliveries each month with every car delivered being spec'd as ordered. Each dealership will request cars in order of deposits paid. No one will be jumping the queue, not even for demo cars until all preorders are fulfilled.

That's pretty good news!
Which dealer, if I can ask?

Bartons in Wynnum. Said they currently have around 15 orders in. Who did you order through?
Keema at Mt Gravatt.
Adrian's been great to deal with, but same as every other dealership- no news from Nissan. Hopefully that all changes next week 🙏

If these leaked prices are correct then I am not sure what to do about my Proto order as it is higher than I want it to be as $80k was my hard limit and it is over that without on road costs.

It is hard to justify that much money for this car given that it is essentially a modernized 370Z.

The only factors that may sway me to go through with it is seeing how demand for it is and knowing that I won't lose any money if I decide to sell it shortly after getting it due to not liking the car or for emergency financial reasons etc.

Other factors that will play into my decision is the covid second hand market and knowing that buying something second hand now with inflated prices will depreciate much more once the market eventually settles down, so potentially the Z is a better option than that as it is new and has warranty etc.

Now the agonizing yo-yoing between getting the car and not getting it will begin lol.

May I ask how you came to your estimate? Hoping your right that’s around 6 per dealership
I meant roughly my preorder list number there was about 400 or so at the end of last year paid a deposit and I was in January so I’m guessing
