Long term to me could be 5-10 years? 50,000+ miles?

In addition to this. Imagine having a hard time getting rid of the car due to paint imperfections, or having to sell at an even lower price because of it's condition. Many of those who opt for a front PPF will show better and to some buyers, condition is important. It again will depend on driving conditions.
Most people trade and not sell it out right since there is substantial cash involved and risk. Dealers won’t give you a premium for PPF and if it’s just chips you won’t lose much on a trade since you really never know what they are giving you for value anyway. Dealers love used inventory as that’s where they make their cash.

I tried to sell my 86 which had full PPF in a private sale and after figuring in the tax savings of a trade it just wasn’t worth it. I ate $5k on PPF AND ANOTHER $400 for the tint. Dealer said thanks. lol.
