New Z as first manual car?

I wonder how many in the US would pass an Aus drivers test….not because I think we are better drivers ( most definetly not especially from where I’m from) just that is you get a auto license you cant just switch to manual…and the manual drivers tests are anal now ( money making revenue raising). Here in WA around 70% fail first time.
Things like coasting are a big no no. You have to shift through all gears, and not permitted to ride the clutch even going at 5km. They do stupid crap, like stopping at someone’s house, driving for 2 minutes and then the instructor pretends he left his shopping at that house, you then have to manover your way back and stop at the exact same house (I’d be stuffed, my memory is not what it once was)
they love to throw in a parallel park on a hill back wheels up. If you don’t have your wheels pointing towards the curb, and can’t do a perfect hill start your gone.
And then (something not effected by manual) the instructors pulling sneakies on you. My son was asked to turn down a one way street, the sign of which was hidden behind the actual corner building…he luckily didn’t turn in, but almost did, and it appears quite a few fail from them just pulling crappy tricks out of their bag

oh also in WA you had to have 50 hours of learning driving under your belt before you can attempt to get your liscence…and they are actually upping that to 100 next year ?
So I’m just curious, with all these people teaching themselves quickly how they would go

Back in the USA a few months after having visited Australia in 2019 (Sydney area), I got a letter from a New South Wales enforcement entity, containing a traffic violation ticket for $200! I thought about not paying, but there was a threat of later not being let back into the country someday.

I enjoyed the Australia visit, but there were so many reduced speed zones with automated cameras ready to zap drivers, seemed excessive.
