I honestly hate waze, I don't want to take the time to try and tweak an app when I drive. Google maps works well enough for me and my Uniden R3 works miles out from what waze can do. The OEM ... I keep letting it try, just to see if it learns.
I became a Waze believer until we all stopped on the highway and not moved for a good 5 minutes, then it rerouted into the back roads and helped me save 20 about minutes. I Kept track of some other wazer’s icons and noticed they were still 40 minutes behind me. It was nothinG serious, just highway construction had to block the lane for some installation. Funnily enough you could tell other users of the app were following the same route Like I was.

Currently though they are building an interchange near me and are randomly closing access roads or portions of the highway, I literally have to use Waze to help me determine the best route because I could be stuck on the road for a good minute due to all the closures.

I'll have to check on the "Premium Traffic", I have Nissan Connect for 5 years with purchasing of the car.
I did turn on Premium Traffic ... in my case, it doesn't really help --- not that it doesn't work, it is mostly from living in the middle of nowhere. My R3 works spot on, still no tickets, and never received a warning from the car itself.
I hate waze, Google maps works well ... my common sense works better. :)
