There wouldn’t be much difference between the sport and performance if they both had the LSD.
I really doubt the LSD would be the deciding factor of someone choosing the Performance over the Sport. People want luxury in everything from a GoKart to a Monster Truck

The performance has a lot of what people want. Heated power leather/suede seats, heated side mirrors, BBK, 19" wheels, bigger infotainment with Nav/GPS, and anything else I may have missed

I think you are correct about the slippery tires, I have experienced this myself, Michelin Pilot Sport (soft rubber)would solve this.
