In addition to being out of sight the other benefit of piggybacking off a fuse gives me the on/off behavior of the fuse. So if you were to hard wire it behind an outlet I think it would be always getting power and you would need a switch to turn it off.I’m not a fan of working into my fuse box, but I also don’t want wires exposed can it be hard wired to the wires behind the power outlet?
Also, did you just make the cover out of foam? Where did you get it?
The power outlets run only when the car is on. At least the one in the console does. Have it wired to my wireless charging pad. What fuse do you have it wired to? Wonder if I could wire it so they only turn on when the headlights are on?In addition to being out of sight the other benefit of piggybacking off a fuse gives me the on/off behavior of the fuse. And yes I made them out of EVA foam. It is really easy to work with and inexpensive. I originally planned to then wrap the piece in a polyester felt and match the carpeting but I liked the look of the foam.
Very nice work very cleanI am very much into cleanliness and cable management. So I did not like the idea of exposed lights. The one different thing I wanted to share was that I fabricated a little lip to hide the LED strips. This small insert is attached by velcro to the shelf behind the seats and covers the light fixture. It allows the light to bounce and illuminate the back of the car but hides the light source from view.

I think I got one when I ordered the exterior light kit (welcome lighting). I completely forgot about that. It would work bc it is the same pig tail for the OEM interior lighting.Nissan makes an accessory service connector pigtail that plugs into the main harness and supplies you with all the circuits that you'd want to tap into for any of the accessories. Just in case you wanted other options instead of tapping at the fuse block.

I've done a few for customer's. Very straight forward and easy. Some drilling into the cupholders for LEDs to be mounted, nothing scary.Looks pretty nice, has anyone added or alread had the OEM interior light kit?
If the illuminated sill plates are installed, does that mean the car already has the accessory adapter?
So for the technologically challenged (me), behind the kick panels and next to the doors?I've done a few for customer's. Very straight forward and easy. Some drilling into the cupholders for LEDs to be mounted, nothing scary.
Yes if the illuminated kick panels are installed from the factory then you would have the accesry connector pigtail installed as well. You most likely have 2 accessory pigtails installed, one on each side of your interior kick panels, below the a pillars, one for each illuminated panel.
