It's too soon to know for sure, but my Z might be totaled. The parking garage at my job flooded while I was halfway into one of my mandatory office days. The water was only about as high as the rocker panels when I found out, but I tried to move it out and it stalled with a malfunction warning. It was a complete nightmare. It's been in the shop for a week and they said it could go either way so I'm just waiting for the verdict. I'm upset at the property owner because this has been an issue for years, upset at my job for forcing mandatory office days when none of my coworkers live here and extremely mad at myself for not trusting my instinct to stay home and take the punishment for missing that day because the weather wasn't looking good. I rather be fired than ever go through this again. And the part that really stings is that I just got my Z back from the shop a few months ago. My car has maybe 7k miles. I'm stressed out.

The water was only about as high as the rocker panels when I found out, but I tried to move it out and it stalled with a malfunction warning. It was slightly blocking a path, so all these frantic people kept beeping and driving recklessly around me (which pushed some water around). I had to get out in the pouring rain and direct all the giant FL trucks to fit around me. Eventually I pushed it to a safe spot and waited 6 hours for a tow truck. It was a complete nightmare. It's been in the shop for a week and they said it could go either way so I'm just waiting for the verdict. And the part that really stings is that I just got my Z back from the shop a few months ago after someone rear-ended me for no reason while I was sitting at a red light (their insurance paid for a new bumper and it looked brand new again). My car has maybe 7k miles. Maybe Wangan Midnight was right about the Zs? Idk what's going to happen, but I'm stressed out.
Yikes!!! That really sucks dude, I'm wishing the best for you. I got frustrated just reading that. Keep us updated

Terrible story man.

Do you have full coverage? If it’s totaled , just get a 2024 Z… and if your really adventurous..get that 55 year anniversary Z that’s going to release soon.

I paid for gap coverage when I bought it, and my insurance said I'm not at fault but I'm not sure exactly what happens if it's totaled. I've never lost any of my previous cars. I'm hoping if it's totaled I can afford to buy another Z. They're still marked up a bit here.

I had full coverage on my 2006 350Z and it got flooded during Hurricane Sandy. They paid me market value at the time … but I used that money towards my home instead of getting a new Z.

That’s always been a big worry of mine. I couldn’t imagine having major damage on my Z. I am wishing you much luck with either getting it fixed like new, or getting a replacement at a reasonable price! So sorry to hear about your car!

... very sorry about your situation, Godzilla. I can't imagine going through that situation. I'm assuming that it has comprehensive insurance?

Yes. It's covered by insurance. They gave me a little update last week, but all I can do for now is wait.

My Z survived! Aside from everything that happened, I consider myself lucky because a friend of mine drove his Tesla through a puddle about the same depth as the flood that affected my Z and his car is done. I always assumed Tesla's weren't build for FL, but idk anything about electric cars. Anyways TGIF (thank god it's fixed).
