My kid's 2003 350Z decided to sputter and die yesterday. Trailered it to the house and ran a diagnostic check with my Autel 5850 computer. I am pulling up a P0442 code. That's supposedly code for a "small" EVAP leak. Well, can't be too "small" as the car will crank but not start. Researching further, might be the canister, might be a purge valve (a lot of yahoos state it's the gas cap). But, it happened suddenly and the car won't start. Seems more like a lack of fuel to the engine.

Any 350Zowners have experience with this or $0.02 before I start chasing my tail or buying parts tht I don't need?
BTW, I looked at a couple 350Z forums + general internet. Absolutely worthless regarding the symptoms and code that I posted.

Thanks in advance for any input friends. :)

It took a bit, but I got the car working again. I ultimately called it a faulty fuel pump. It had electricity and made noise, but wasn't pushing enough fuel to give adequate fuel pressure to keep the engine alive.

To make it an extra pain, the passenger side crank position sensor had also failed (but wasn't initially throwing a code) and the positive battery terminal was loose, leading to all sorts of inconsistent faults. I threw in a short vid of my ordeal - it details how to change out the cam position and crank sensors.
