Like Apex Z said, pressure is pressure. Military and commercial aircraft have used nitrogen for decades for specific reasons.
From the net: "Aircraft use nitrogen in their tires to reduce the risks associated with moisture and oxygen, which can cause inconsistent tire pressure due to expansion...
Based on my experience, airplane mechanics (even those with Inspection Authorization) aren't much better than auto mechanics - they just charge more.
Fun Fact: The Lycoming engine in my airplane never had an oil filter. The recommended overhaul time was 2000 hours - usually based on cylinder...
What we call catch cans are actually air/oil separators and are used in a lot of gasoline engines.
Folks don't have to believe, but having opened the intake to my ZR1 and found it and the supercharger dripping of oil made me a believer.
As for car manufacturers installing them or not of course...
You probably meant to say the NHTSA as they are the agency responsible for safety recalls.
Here is the link: https://www.nhtsa.gov/report-a-safety-problem
I've read your posts and it looks like you went by the book. Based on my research, I have to agree with you that the oil pressure solenoid stuck open. Having tracked my former ZR1 the only advice I can add is more frequent oil changes since I didn't see you address that issue. I used to do an...
You're gonna love it - if you don't already. Great color by the way. I'm impressed every time I drive mine. Just hope you don't catch "mod-itis" like I did. Welcome to the forum.

I use the Tire Rack website to judge actual tire size. Just punching in 295/30 and looking at the specs for six different tires I found section widths that vary from 11.6" to 12.3" and tread width from 10.6" to 12.5". Another spec I look at to judge the affect on speedometer readings is the revs...
I use a MaxJax lift and support the car on the back with hard rubber pucks that fit next to the jack point and the front using the steel support that attaches to the engine sub-frame. I had to modify (cut) the puck on the driver's side so it wouldn't impinge on the fuel tank.
After lifting the...
I got the short hose through without any trouble but the long one has too many twists to feed through. I had to remove the IC. Also, plus one on the CAI install. I installed the Nismo CAI after the Mishimoto and now I can unscrew the catch can without having to unbolt the frame and move it...
Personally, I would ask the company to supply their engineering data that would support essentially doubling the load on the Z's shoulder belt attach bolt and fitting. Since this bar is only supported by two bolts if you had two people in the car during a crash, both people would load into the...
Yeah, I cross-shopped the Por-sha 911 and 914 in both 1971 and 1975. Walked away with a Z both times. The 'stangs' at the time were just Falcons in different clothes so a non-starter for me.
My buddy who had a 911 was impressed when I caught him in my '71 on the way to work on some "twisties"...
I still miss the 240Z that I bought new in 1971. Sadly it lasted only 4 years and 88,000 miles before starting to rust away. My second fav: the new Z - what ever you want to call it.
What about us old guys? My mods so far: Nismo coil overs-lowered an inch, AWE touring exhaust, Mishimoto catch can, and currently installing Nismo CAI which is going a little slow due to me slowing down as I approach 80 (and I don't mean MPH).
I've had the car almost 2 months and put 850 miles...
After reading the advice of others on this forum, I was determined to have the ASE disabled. My ace card was the dealership offering a free tank of gas for a good company review. I had my salesman speak to management and we agreed to turn off the ASE in lieu of the gas as I've read that some...
My car came with the AWE track version installed. I found that it had a very loud drone at 70 mph such that you could not hear the stereo. I installed the touring conversion package and find it much more suitable. At first it sounded a little raspy but after I had that annoying ASE turned off, I...
