You are referencing the brand new G22 chassis M440i which are more expensive than a Supra and half as fun (no manual, everything is electrically assisted, looks fckin ugly). I got a well kept 2019 440i with only about 37,000 km on it, driven summer only, with all regular maintenance receipts. It...
Is that true though? Most of the initial Supra pushback was people clowning it for being a BMW but I don't think anyone really complained about driving dynamics. And the buffeting issue is an 80 dollar fix compared to all the aftermarket upgrades the Z will require i.e. suspension, tires, brakes...
Sure, no one is restricted from buying a sports car. My only point is, if the characteristics you mentioned are important to you, it would be much more optimal to shop for a sports sedan instead, because it will satisfy all your criteria nicely and not lose you any performance compared to the Z...
Those are definitely important factors for daily driving but never the priority when shopping for a sports car. By its nature, a sports car is a severe compromise in all of the aspects you mentioned. They are maybe the worst in all vehicle types when it comes to comfort/ease of driving/cargo...
well Teslas are quick, but they are not sports cars and therefore are out of the discussion.
I just don't think its a fair comparison at all with the GR86. One is a sub 30k sports car and the other is a 50k sports car, it better be faster for the extra 20k. But once you consider other RWD...
True. My only problem with this take is... The Supra. One of them bad boys pulls up next to you at a red light, and all of a sudden you're the one to keep quiet. You throw in the Mustang and the Camaro at the same price range and all of a sudden the Z is being walked by all of them. So where...
I would too but a well-maintained, manual, low milage 440i that's spec'd exactly to my taste is a rarity, so a couple grand extra is not a dealbreaker for me.
Mines an F32. My friend has an F36 Grand Coupe and honestly if you need a 4 door just get a 3-series. My G20 was way more comfortable in the back than his F36.
So the update you are referring to is the final one which applies to the Supra and all the G chassis BMWs. That was in 2019. So all F36 4-series unfortunately did not get that update. Consequently they make 355hp instead of 382hp like the Supra, but when it comes to reliability, they are all...
Yeah it would essentially be the same. The F36 got a facelift in 2017 so it would look slightly different but almost indistinguishable. Pretty sure the B58 got an update too for the later models.
My suggestion is, drive one. Beamers sell themselves once you sit behind the wheel.
FYI the car...
I'd go for the Supra if not the AT. The manual is one of the key elements I don't want to compromise. Since Toyota dealers told me "You can put money down, but there is zero guarantee you'll even get a car let alone within a reasonable timeframe" I decided not to go through the same hell all...
