More likely it'll compete with the 4 cyl turbo than the V8 I think (6 cyl Mustang is kinda weak and also not very exciting.) unless they really decide to give it a lot of power. But from the rumors it sounds like the car might be getting lighter and maybe less power than 370z?

The Z is already stale. If the GTR wont be until 2018, they have to, HAVE TO bring out the Z before then. U know they wont release it same time so gotta hope they do it before hand.

Actually I know people who don't really want a car that is too small since it takes away from its presence. Also my buddy wants the Z to go upmarket to compete with the likes of the M3 since there is a big gap for Nissan sports cars all the way up to the GT-R

Man why doesn't Nissan give us a peek at a Z35 test mule already so we can start seeing some accurate renders. These are are all completely all over the map which means no one has any clue lol.

Imagine this rumor came true, but also with the Z35 getting the 3.0-liter twin-turbo V-6 (good for 400+ hp) from the Infiniti Q60 concept?! A Z like that would tear up the competition!

When the next Z - Z35 comes out and if it ends up being a smaller lighter car but with less horsepower I think some ppl out there will say Nissan went soft with it compared to the 350z/370z, which have always had really solid HP figures. But those guys will be the ones who are way too into...

If it gets the Q60's turbo v6 engine it won't be lighter, if at all compared to the current VQ engine. It stands to lose significant weight though if they end up building it on an all new ground-up platform. That's what I'm hoping for bc if they build it on the current Z platform, there's not...

If they keep the Z six cylinders then the biggest competitors are gonna be the Mustang and Camaro. If they go 4 cylinders then the FR-S/BRZ and 4 cylinder Mustang (and Camaro if the next one comes with 4 cyl model).

Detroit, NY and Tokyo are the likliest shows next year for something to be showed.

What's interesting is that he's talking about the Z right now. Usually company reps or execs start opening up and giving up details around the time when something's about to happen. Could we possibly see a concept drop at Detroit or NY??!!

I feel like Nissan is at a similar position that Toyota was in just a few years ago and from a place it is still crawling itself out of. Nissan clearly knows how to build a sports car that performs, ahem GT-R. But it needs to step back and evaluate its position in the land of performance cars...
