I'm assuming you're talking non-nismo. The plate frame has mounts that tuck in through the grill and screw onto the bumper skin/foam rebar behind the grill, and then has little "arms" up top that hang onto the grill and clip in. If you remove the bracket, you won't see the screw holes...
