It's the maximum weight that the car is rated to handle, including occupants and cargo. A higher GVWR is a good thing, it's the kerb/curb weight you want to be low.
I have to wonder, if the people on a Z enthusiast forum are getting tired of being drip fed news, then what good is all the media buzz doing for Nissan? They have to realise that they need to get on with it and sell us the car, or people are going move on to more available options.
The length of time between advertising being out and the car being available, and now the limited production talk is giving off a bit of a 'faux scarcity' smell. I'm becoming less optimistic about this launching at a reasonable price for the performance.
I was told something similar when I was contacted for pre-order last year. I get the idea of generating a bit of interest before launch, but it's a pretty unreasonable lead time in my opinion
That surprised me too. I've never owned or driven the 350z or 370z, but I've always had the impression the 370z was just an all around improvement. I still think that ~250kW out of an NA 6cyl is impressive for an affordable car
Definitely in the 2 seater camp just purely based on the styling in the generations it was offered. I've never quite been able to articulate why I wasn't a fan of the Z32 styling, and I'm now realising its just the 2+2 that looks off to me.
I'm not against the new Z having a 2+2 option, but...
If it's not competitive on performance and price in AU, or if it consistently receives poor reviews, I'll probably look elsewhere.
The price of cars here is getting a bit crazy, so I'm definitely waiting for confirmed AU pricing with bated breath
That's an impressively small difference to the STI.
Makes me wonder how much drivetrain loss the STI has, because you would think it should just walk away from the BRZ. The new Golf GTI certainly does (against a GR86), even with the standard FWD scrabble off the line.
I'll be trading in my Megane for the Z, or selling it privately at the very least. It's a good little car but the FWD dynamics just aren't what I'm looking for despite its capability.
It would take too much for me to part with the MR2, and the 508 is our comfy practical car, so they'll both...
I think I'll be happy with that spec, but I'm watching closely for more news on available interior/exterior colour combos and other options. I just saw another thread around here about an active exhaust.
I won't be content until I can see it and buy it though :D
My Megane RS is manual (only available in manual) and has normal / RS / track modes, which affect throttle response, boost, stability and traction control, and I'd guess fuel maps based on the exhaust pops. I'd suggest that the association with ATs and performance modes is more to do with...
It has grown on me since I first saw it, but it's still my least favourite part of the new look. I don't hate it and it fits with the rest of the styling so I'll be happy enough to live with it.
Wow, that's a lot more blue than I thought it would be. Reminds me of more grey version of Hyundai Performance Blue that you see on their N range.
I like it a lot more than the renders
I'm firmly in the Ikazuchi Yellow camp, but Seiran blue is growing on me too.
Have there been any photos around of the Z with Rosewood paint? I like that there is an understated "colour" option, but I'm struggling to imagine what it would look like in person.
I'm still stuck with the 90's mindset that a sports car weighs ~1250kg, but I know car chassis and especially tyre tech has improved a lot since then so I'm hoping it delivers a comparable experience.
