  1. Your favorite tv, movie or infamous cars?

I bought my 1972 Series Land Rover, partly due to having seen the vehicles in action, on an old TV program called "Mutual Of Omaha's Wild Kingdom". Here is a clip from the show, the crew is using some Land Rovers to catch an animal:
  2. 📊 2023 Nissan Z Sales Figures So Far

So what's the story, other than the forum member from Indiana who got a Z (and I think one guy in Australia), have any other forum members gotten a new Z? Looking on YouTube, it seems mostly the same old collection of "influencers" who either have a Z, or are still mining their earlier test...

March of what yea Have you thought about getting rid of all that foam blocking and other stuff taking up space under the floor, and then fitting a more traditional sub with cabinet? All that foam Nissan put there to make a higher level floor bothers me from a design and usefulness standpoint.

"But one too few will be our goal, just not because of production limits." So to some extent it's an intentional tease. Well they can all go tease someone else. ?

  6. Toyota GR Corolla

That could be part of it. More and more it's feeling like an intentional tease. Like the pretty girl back in school who wants attention and strings me along, even though I have no chance, lol.
  7. Toyota GR Corolla

I don't get it. Clearly there is demand for these various interesting/fun/performance type vehicles. Sure, maybe not as much as some high volume blah SUV/sedans. But at least it seems more demand than automakers are providing in terms of vehicle output. Are these execs sitting around laughing...
  8. Hands Up all the Aussies

Dang, I recall last summer (winter in AU) your dealer reaching out about a Proto, and idea of possible Aug delivery? Now delivery is pushed half year later to 2023. :( At this rate, here in the USA it could be 2024, before a Z is available at non-inflated prices.
  9. Hold on deliveries

You've seen people with the new Z? ;) If there are any in the major metro area of Chicagoland, I haven't seen one.
  10. The Movie Review Thread

I jumped off that train a while back. Enjoyed Black Panther though, would like to checkout the sequel.
  11. Hands Up all the Aussies

Mainly I've heard of cars getting crushed, when brought into a country illegally, specifically due to not meeting emissions/safety regulations. For example, people were importing later model Land Rover Defenders (the older D90 variety), which didn't meet emissions requirements for the year in...
  12. Wax or other paint coating recommendations?

Professional ceramic coating is popular these days, but what about a quality owner applied wax/coating, any recommendations? I tried a hi-tech pseudo-ceramic coating spray, and it went on like someone rubbing greasy fingers all over the paint. Looked horrible anytime the light reflected. It was...
  13. Hold on deliveries

I never expected or wanted to be first kid on the block. Figured late 2023 or early 2024 was more realistic, for a reasonable low aggravation MSRP sale (in the USA at least). But this launch is dragging out so long, even that time frame seems fading away. With every month of delays and low...

My wife was curious how a couple we knew, were driving around in two expensive blinged out new SUVs. I told her it's nearly always one of these three things: they make bank, family money, or credit. Turned out to be the latter, when the couple got overextended and lost their house. Anyway, I've...

If manufacturers can hit 20k price, I'd probably get an EV, for use as our household primary economy car for general urban area driving. That seems the forte for EV these days - an urban household having local (at the house) charging capability and not needing 200+ range. An EV would probably...
  16. Progressive Racing Equipment CUSCO releases LSD for RZ34 Fairlady Z

That's kind of my game plan (if Z Sport ever becomes available in my area for MSRP or lower). Spend 40k to get me into and enjoying driving the Z, and get to know the vehicle. And later if I feel an LSD is needed, try for a reasonable deal on a better than stock LSD. Maybe something like a...

    The $199,900 price tag? :)
  18. 2023 Nissan Z are finally starting to roll into dealerships

I read an article about car makers possibly reducing production, if they can earn more per vehicle due to raised prices. It's something they learned from the pandemic. I think you are correct about questionable success over time, trying to game the market in this way by manufactures and...
  19. How much difference will an LSD really make for daily driving?

In daily driving the sport is arguably safer with the open diff. Should be less likely to lose the tail in a spin-out. The non-powered tire should help maintain traction in that regard. I view the LSD as more performance oriented, for when wanting to hook up both tires for max throttle to the...

The current dealer system is a function of politics. Including rules and regulations that can be impediments to competitors and disrupters.
