  1. This Seems Like A Pretty Fair Assessment Of The Z From Car and Driver

If anything, Nissan absolutely cannot afford ANYTHING that would stain their brand image at this point. This is a marque that is in repair. The Z, Frontier, and Ariya are ushering in the "New Nissan". These cars HAVE to nail it for them. I would say the Frontier was extremely well done for...
  2. This Seems Like A Pretty Fair Assessment Of The Z From Car and Driver

Let's not sensationalize - the car does what it was designed to do from the factory. Its factory configuration is a "jack of all trades" configuration. Just like a base Mustang GT is. If you came into this thing thinking that the Z was going to be some high performance track star vehicle, you...
  3. Car and Driver: Z vs. Mustang Mach 1

I remember distinctly that a tire upgrade alone on the Nismo 370Z netted over half a lateral G increase on the skidpad some years ago. If anything is consistent in all the comparisons we have seen so far, it's that the Z needs a freakin tire to match the car's capability. I really hope they...
  4. Jolopnik ranks the new Z's colors

First 350Z I ever saw in person was LMS. That cemented that car in my brain forever. I remember the day I walked up to that car in the showroom and it was just perfect.
  5. Jolopnik ranks the new Z's colors

Jalopnik is cringe these days. Have been for a while. I stopped even going there years ago.
  6. Consumer Reports Review - RZ34 Discussion

That's why every hypercar you have ever seen has a 5 speed manual transmission and a freshly printed copy of USA Today in the passenger seat so you can read all about the latest bells and whistles in cars today.
  7. Consumer Reports Review - RZ34 Discussion

Having lived with the Jatco 7AT in a Q50S and a 2018 Titan and going to my 2020 Titan with the 9AT, the 9AT is MILES BEYOND anything the 7AT was in either of my previous cars. Full stop. It's a dramatic improvement. I was holding out hope early on when I saw a ZF9 was going into the...
  8. US PRICING: Factory Accessories, Parts, Options for 2023 Nissan Z [2-tone paint, stripes, etc.] [NO POLITICS - ADMIN]

So this, in a vacuum, I agree with. Why this isn't a guarantee is all of the other economic forces at work in the near term. When the pandemic started and before shortages were fully realized, the automakers panicked that people wouldn't buy cars, and I got my 2020 Titan for $10k off sticker...
  9. US PRICING: Factory Accessories, Parts, Options for 2023 Nissan Z [2-tone paint, stripes, etc.] [NO POLITICS - ADMIN]

This is the core truth of all of it. New vehicle launches have carried unprecedented ADM over the last year. The Z will be no exception - the difference will be the duration of the high demand to enable these ADMs. The Corvettes started tapering off a bit just in time for the Z06s to...
  10. Aftermarket LSD on a Sport Z?

No, that point stands just fine. 255hp is enough to enjoy the benefits of an LSD over an open diff. The same people whining and griping about the Z Performance's price point need to acknowledge that the Z Sport absolutely nukes the base model Supra in value.
  11. Aftermarket LSD on a Sport Z?

Only thing with the new Z is they supposedly upgraded a lot of the stuff around the diff assembly for the new car. Might not need a bushing upgrade but we won't really know that until guys like you (that really drive these outside of a press event) get their hands on one.
  12. Aftermarket LSD on a Sport Z?

It's not confirmed either way yet - at least not that I've seen. However, the Q50 and Q60 use the R190. I would bet that's likely what's in the Z. I believe the 370Z was the last car in the entire lineup using the R200 assembly. It would make sense to align it with its platform sisters.
  13. Performance Serian blue cost

Probably not. I was too far into the beers the other night to be on an internet forum.
  14. Performance Serian blue cost

Is that $52,500 from a dealer? Show an order sheet. The website says $52,900 for a 3.0 with zero options. Is your math on a Z Performance based on google or a dealer invoice? Show us an invoice for each. I'd be curious to see it. A 3.0 base Supra is still short a few options from what...
  15. Performance Serian blue cost

LOL dude! Come on. Only difference is TWO WHOLE CARMAKERS TO INCLUDE THE LARGEST CARMAKER IN THE WORLD shared the cost presumably 50/50. NO BIG DEAL OR ANYTHING. TOTALLY MINOR.
  16. Official: U.S. 2023 Nissan Z priced at $39,990 Sport, $49,990 Performance, $52,900 Proto Spec (Now Including Exterior/Interior Color Combos)

This comment is not aging well. First - NO ONE bought a 2020 Vette for that price. Second - this is what Chevy does. They artificially deflate the actual price for its first model year. The 2014 Corvette Stingray debuted at $51,995. It got to $56,590 in 5 years with little if any...
  17. Jason Cammisa 1 hour conversation on New Z in Carmudgeon show

Really cool to hear him heaping praise on Nissan for refining the VR30DDTT for this car. I'm of the many that have been following this motor since late 2015 and I'm painfully aware of its shortcomings as well as a couple resulting hardware revisions it received in MY17 and MY19 in the Q cars...
  18. TFL's take on the new Z on track

This is a "LOL no" from me.
  19. Z Sport trim arrives at Fast Intentions.

Most of the rest of the world won't let them sell this car due to emissions or a litany of other environmental laws. I truly think the initial trim deployment of the car is a combination of economic forces (supply chain issues from pandemic and Ukraine conflict) and the subsequent limited...
