Post a log of you using MAP 3. I bet its terrible. JB4 isnt very well known for smooth maps. Custom MAP 6 is honestly the only way to go. And it doesnt adjust things on the fly. It just tricks the ECU to its set values and lets the car adjust it from there.
Dont get all caught up on the DOT numbers. I would personally recommend a more track oriented fluid like Castrol SRF. Its not cheap but it does hold up to track use. You got to look more at wet and dry boiling point numbers.
Depends what your definition of "track capable" is. Yes you can drive them on the track. But if you use the rumble strips, my bet is they bottom out super easy and maybe bounce instead of soak it up. The spring rates will be stiffer than stock but not adequate for the track.
I personally run...
Neither of your choices are really track oriented coilovers. They are more of a "street" style. If you plan on tracking the car a lot, I would go with something a bit better, like Fortune Auto 510s.
Start with figuring out what frequency you want to target (based on what kind of driving you are going to do). Then figure out the motion ratio front and rear. After that, you can calculate the spring rates pretty easy.
I would do that over getting the off the shelf rates because most...
Someone has a typo then. Divorced rears are typically around double the rate of a true coilover. I dont know the motion ratio F/R or what frequency they target so I cant tell you who is wrong.
Also, please dont get the BC coilovers. They are junk. Go with FA at a minimum.
I disagree. A few weeks ago I did a 1000 mile road trip which included about 150 miles on the track. This coming weekend, I will be doing something similar. Around 600 miles cruising and another 150 miles on the track. My car also has coilovers and still rides great. It drives me crazy when...
I just turned over 23K miles on mine. Rotated the tires 3 times and thats about it. Downside for me is slow charging so I dont travel far in it. A Tesla charges like 400x faster than my car. But for how I use it, it is perfectly fine. Charge it like twice a week and cost me nothing since I have...
Good luck with Garmin. I have 4 of them and only one works as it should. All the others I have to reformat weekly or the files become corrupt and not able to view.
Its a 21, so auto was the only option at the time. Wouldnt sell it for a manual though. Its even better now that I tuned the trans. Seriously the best auto trans out there.
@trackratZ if you decided to toy with the dark side and want to test out a Supra instead, just let me know! Only downside is that it is no where even close to stock.... or maybe thats a plus?
Fellow Socal people, dont feel bad. I have only seen 3. I see more Lambos than Zs. I even saw an electric Hummer the other day (first for me). I am on the road a lot too.
Took me a little bit but finally finished Halo Infinite. By far my least favorite Halo game so far. I dont like how they made it like a free roam map instead of actual levels. But at the same time, there are actual levels, just got to find them.
