Definately expect the dealers to mark up the price for at least 6 months.
If the chip shortage isn't sorted out by next year, then they will continue to mark up the price until there is enough inventory.
I voted for sport, but it really depends on the price.
$40K is my limit, so whatever package I can get for that price. Since, this will be a weekend car I would be fine with the sport pack.
Put down around 20%, then finance the rest.
Personally, I'm not a fan of paying off cars in full unless I'm buying a car that's $10K or less.
I'd rather take the cash and put it in the market and let it grow.

-Gram Lights
-V1 Z34 Nismo wheels (Not an "aftermarket" wheel, but still looks good and light)
We shouldn't forget that there is a chip shortage and supply chain shortage right now which is causing the delay in new cars to be built.
The reason for high markup on the C8 is because it is the new vette, but Chevy can't build them fast enough to meet demand. Supply and demand issue.
At one point I was looking into a F30 340i. I went to Carmax and test drove one and the power of the B58 was fun, but since I keep my cars for a long time I decided against it because of negative perception of German reliability.
I also was looking into a 2017-18 Chevy Camaro SS 1LE, but...
