Even if the 370Z offers a better “financial bargain”, the new Z offers a substantially better “emotional bargain” IMHO.

Hello, I grew up in Austin and then moved to Dallas after college. I owned an ‘82 280ZX in high school and most recently a ‘71 240Z. I have 2 Bearded Collies and a Maine Coon Kitten!

As an fyi, I’ve personally spent way too much money on Hot Wheels and other model cars. But hey, it’s fun and I enjoy it a lot. I’ve got an IG page where I post pics of my collection.

To your point about the craziness of the collectibles market, the current bid is $127.50!

For sure, once it’s widely released the bids on eBay will normalize…down to a few bucks

The bidding on this Hot Wheels Z seems reflective of basic economics: the supply is low (I’ve only seen 1 available so far) and the demand to be one of the first owners must be high.

The bidding is at $102.50 as of 10:30pm CST! That’s insane but shows the passion for the Z!

At least they could throw one in with the real car if they mark up the price $5k-$10k!

I think it’s pretty good at $1 if I pick it up at Target. But $60+ (Current bidding on eBay) is too rich for me.

I’m going to be interested to see how long it takes until a Z Proto hits Bring a Trailer or some other auction site.

Demand is high for the new Z! I hope dealerships don’t mark up the price too aggressively. What do you think?

I voted Right. It feels like they finished off the front end, which I don’t feel like they’ve done with the Z at present.
