  1. ZdayZ 2021

Also guys - look straight at the engine configuration in the Infiniti cars. This new Z is a parts bin car from Nissan. They can (and probably should) offer the car in two configurations - one 300hp twin turbo V6 (Infiniti Silver Sport) and one 400+ (Infiniti Red Sport). There's not going to...
  2. ZdayZ 2021

I can guarantee you the transmission is the bottleneck there - it's definitely a conservative configuration from Nissan. Too many people are running 500+ whp with bolt ons, cooling upgrades, and a tune against those motors. Many are doing so quite reliably... not that there aren't some who are...
  3. ZdayZ 2021

EDIT: I was wrong. 14.7 PSI is OEM max boost for Red Sport models. 8.7 PSI for 300hp versions. It's possible, if that image actually means anything, that we'll see 300hp and 400+ versions of the car to keep it within a palatable price range. I predicted this months ago btw :)
  4. What has your dealer told you about the Z?

Where is here? I thought I was in the market for a used GT-R but I can't find anything I'd buy that's less than $85k. My local Audi dealer just recently had a 2012 with 14k on the clock for a whopping $82k. It was stock!
  5. What has your dealer told you about the Z?

That dealer is full of shit on the "flood the market" comment. They have zero control over how many Zs Nissan can produce in light of being cash-strapped and dealing with several supply chain issues as many have already mentioned in this thread. If Nissan is smart, they know they cannot allow...
  6. 2022 Nissan Z Details: MSRP pricing, packages, power (hp), weight, transmission + more

At this price point, an extra $1,000 off something at this price point is not enough to make me go buy something I'm not 100% sure I want. I would advise patience here. It's mostly a horrible time to buy a car. The used market is so wildly inflated that if you're not coming up with serious...
  7. ZdayZ 2021

I imagine that, without a doubt, you'll get the Z Proto there, unless they take one of those silver cars that have been spied state side and debut them.
  8. Z34 Nissan 370Z

Your consistency in evasion is admirable. Completely disagree that his personal preferences are irrelevant. No one conducting reviews on anything does so without his own preference coming into the picture. Not you, not me, not Chris Harris. If that's the case, then enjoy his YouTube catalog...
  9. Z34 Nissan 370Z

Eh not really buttons pushed. Just annoyed at trends that kill cars like the Z and that will eventually send us into an oblivion of electrified enclosed laptops that drive us places. I never argued the car hadn't been updated in over 10 years, but there's a whole different set of reasons for...
  10. Z34 Nissan 370Z

These takes on the 370Z absolutely kill me. When we say failed to put together a convincing sports car, failed how? Sales? Performance? Performance for dollar? On sales - the 370Z launched during a severe economic downtown (one of the largest financial crises in history), and it was based...
  11. 2022 Nissan Z Details: MSRP pricing, packages, power (hp), weight, transmission + more

So the 2020+ Titans and Frontiers use the Jatco 9 (GE9R01A), and they do use a centrifugal pendulum absorber but do not use a shift cable while having physical levers to control shifting (the Titan has a column shifter, but it's connected to an electrical sensor - no shift cable). Shift...

  13. What car do you think is the MAIN competitor to the new Z?

I said all that up there before I realized the 718 had gotten all the way to $60k entry price. So maybe not the Cayman. But my point still stands.
  14. What car do you think is the MAIN competitor to the new Z?

I feel this take oversimplifies what the Z is supposed to be in the greater sports car market. Just because a product ticks a sporty box in a similar price range doesn't mean Nissan is intending to target that product as its competition. Is it smart to consider that product as a potential...
