The way air gets in it's going to get in there. The OEM plastic and others don't have a honeycomb grill where that vent is. Now I know why. I don't know why Z1 went with this design but the vent looks like it is riveted on there so maybe could be replaced? Just seems like a silly design to me...
Did my third oil change. Got just under 7k on it. Will probably do twice a year no matter what the milage.
Kind of bummed out though. I got the Z1 under-shroud so it would be easier with the "service panel" to do oil changes as the stock plastic one has to be bent down or completely removed...
Got a pic of the vent underneath?
I may swap to this one as the Z1 I have is just collecting dead leaves that it never ejects. The Z1 has like a honeycomb pattern where stuff in the vent cant get out. Its annoying.
Wait.
So in Japan the "Fairlady" part of the emblem is also silver color on darker cars?
Dang, no wonder when I put one on my Rosewood the first thought was "well you can't really see the 'Fairlady' part unless you are up close." Cause its black like the lighter color Z's have.
Going to need...
Phooey.
I was starting to think of where I could apply this decal on mine. I guess it wouldn't be hard to just have someone make one that looks like like it, if Nissan won't end up selling them as a part anyways where it's not part of the spoiler.....
Though that spoiler is nice. I would have...
This.
I get way more people looking, taking pic's and saying "Woah sweet car!" Than I ever did in my Corvette. The uniqueness of it is part of the greatness of this gen Z in my opinion.
I use the same "two microfiber cloth" technique others here have said but with a product called Invisible Glass. One rag to wipe the product on, the second to buff it off after it dries. I have had good luck with it.
Thanks, yeah don't see too many Rosewood's out there.
I got the Race Ramps on amazon, you can get them from Race Ramps official site too. These are the 67" XT model. Nice and long so my air deflectors in front of the wheels or chin spoiler (in the front) don't scrape. Each one comes apart in 2...
Raining today But I backed the Z into the garage and install the rear splash guards. Not as big of a difference like on a lighter color Z but I still love this look and glad I did it.
Here are a few before and after pix
It's nerve-wracking drilling 8 new holes into a basically brand new...
I actually see that as a plus. I know the front end of the Z is controversial but I love the look of the sport / performance front end. Simple, retro, and I like giant mouth grills.
