I tried them both, straight pipe and resonator.
I went with the resonator complete AT system. Straight pipe was a little too much for us.
Would switch it out if doing a track day or something, but not daily driving.
Found a full exhaust on FB market place for $200. Had to drive a couple of hours but was well worth it.
Not something you should have to pay a shop to do, very easy to swap out.
Its going to be a journey for sure. I hope it all works out for America. Either way since I just bought my 24 Z.
I wont be buying another for many years, so hopefully this will be settled by the time I'm ready for another auto buy.
You should. Wayyyy back I bought a brand new Challenger R/T black with the red stripes.
I put a Hurst shifter on it and placed 1st my class at our local show.
Everyone loves a cool car. Even if you win nothing you will still have some fun.
Right, Automatics have the louder exhaust that have a smaller rear muffler but resonators on the front Y pipe. Switch that front Y pipe to a manual straight pipe and its LOUD.
The manual has the huge muffler (very quiet) in the back with no resonators on the front Y pipe.
Both bolt right up...
Got my entire exhaust (3 pc) for $200, on FB marketplace from someone who had a Nismo that wanted a CrAZy race exhaust.
Had to drive 2 hrs but was well worth the trip.
The front Y pipe on the m/t is a straight pipe. The forward A/T pipe has silencers built in.
You can mix and match depending on the sound level you would like. Bolts up super easy.
I liked the complete A/t exhaust. Straight pipe was too loud.
My first Z was a 1982 280zx in cowboy colors (Blue and silver two tone). I owned that 38 yrs ago.
I met my wife of 38 years with that car and picked up our new 2024 Z performance this last week because it reminded us of the old one from our past.
This one is a little nicer, lol
I have a Z performance with a manual transmission. It was sooo quiet that I was having trouble shifting. Constantly looking at the tach to know what the engine was doing. I found the "other" louder exhaust for sale on Marketplace and bought it pretty cheap.
One bonus item is that all the parts...
