^ Too many kids are growing up with zero discipline or respect these days, and it's being made worse because there is no real punishment for doing something wrong. Making them sit in the "naughty corner" for 10mins achieves absolutely nothing. It's the same with the so called "justice" system and the "penalties" of a slap on the wrist with a wet paper towel or at worst a brief stay in an all-expense-paid luxury hotel (laughingly called a "prison"). You can thank all the Politically Correct fools, and like petrol prices, it's only going to get worse. :(

Call me crazy, but I think there is a marked difference between teaching a child to have discipline and respect, vs striking them in the face and slamming their head into a brick wall.

Agree…also my son represented Australia in a math comp in Bulgaria a few years back….they got absolutely smashed, The Indian, Chinese Bulgarian kids embarrassed them and the Canadians, because the education systems there are still concentrating on the actual math and English etc not all the woke extras that are being forced into the curriculum taking awayaway from the important stuff

We've no idea what the kid did. Most likely it's a punk who is always a troublemaker who [knows they can get away with anything. Some of these kids go around hitting teachers (or worse!) and there's nothing the teacher can do because they'll get in deep legal hot water. At least this kid now knows he can't get any with doing whatever he wants.

Yep, there's far too much silliness pushed in schools these days. In my schooldays it was just the pointless sports classes (and that was back when they didn't have the silly "no winners or losers" in sports), but now there's far more idiocy, including teachers poking their noses into kids' lunchboxes and sending notes home when they've got an occasional chocolate bar!

They're even going to make the native people's language to be compulsory in school here, as well as already forcing into TV/radio news reports, advertising, etc. despite the fact that most of the native people themselves can't even understand it. What's the sense in having important things like Covid information that is sprinkled full of words few people understand!?
