It's possible it may move upmarket slightly. But don't think the 400HP version will be the close to $60k model. I'm sure that model will float around in the 40's with a 300HP in the 30's. If I had to guess the rumored 500HP hybrid DCT will be a top line Nismo model that will garner that excess of cash.

That would be my guess.

I built a Q60 Red Sport 400 RWD online with some basic options, and it came out just under $60K. I expect the top of the line Z to be between $5 to 10K less than that. A 400 hp Z priced at $50K is still cheaper than, say an M4, but I really hope it stays in the $40K range.

I'm hoping it's a lot less than that. A $50k Z is like 20 grand more expensive than what the 370Z starts at now. If they're looking to make an M4 competitor then that pricing makes sense but it'll be moving segment and owner demographics for the car. At that price they might find that people prefer to get a lightly used M4.

I know we're likely gonna see a price increase from the 370 but I hope it stays under $40k.

I'm pretty sure Angelo was referencing a top,of,the line Z at ~$50K

Yes I was. A 370Z Nismo Tech already starts out at $45,490. I think it's reasonable to assume that a newer, faster, fully-optioned, and hopefully lighter, Z car will cost a little more. If the Z35 offers M2 pricing and dimensions with M4 power, then we certainly have a winner on hour hands.

Obviously we'll have to wait it out. I'm curious to what a 50th anniversary model would offer being 2020 would their 50th?

Same here. I would hope they would not wait until then to roll out the new model. Hopefully some of us can be sitting in the new Z when they show off the anniversary edition. Even better show it off along with the next Nismo.

Oh I believe there will be a 2019 model first.

Nissan will capitalize on the 50th Anniversary Edition Z35 as much possible, no doubt. However, in order for that model to be profitable, the regular Z35 must first be well-received. I really think we'll see the next Z before the 50AE comes out.

Going upmarket? Hopefully that doesn't mean Supra pricing. I love the proto and all, but $50k and I'm out.

That piece of the Z going upmarket is really old news and was posted by autoguide... not the best source of news imo.

This one is more recent.

https://www.thedrive.com/news/37025...n-pretty-much-unchanged-says-nissan-executive

"It will come out in this form," declared Nissan's Chief Product Specialist, Hiroshi Tamura, as transcribed by Best Car. Tamura reportedly added that in keeping with the Z's affordable roots, the next Z will be sold at a "buyable price [sic]."

Thanks, I didn't pay attention to the date lol.
Anytime, and to just remind everyone that autoguide was also the trash source that reported Nissan had trademarked 400Z and it was pretty much a done deal.

starting price will be based on the demand they are seeing in all the forums etc , its like when a stock goes public more interest means higher IPO prices . IMO if this car comes in a weighing 3100 lbs it will be a show stopper
