Many reviews have already pointed out that the Bridgestone Potenza S007s aren't exceptional, especially at putting all that power down. Even though I plan on keeping them for now, I do consider upgrading them next year to something that will get the most out of this car. Now, my tire knowledge is severely limited and it would be interesting to hear what people will be putting on once they get their hands on this car.

Depends on what you plan to do with the car?

Doesn’t make sense to immediately replace tires unless you are a track rat.

They will be fine for street, even spirited driving.

I don't plan on tracking it for the first year, just making plans for the future. But ideally I'd want something that sticks to perform better off the line and in the corners.

I will think about that when my OE set wears out.

of course. I expect most people to do that. I might follow the same route come next year, but its good to start learning/planning early especially if you are looking to get the most out of this Z.

I agree with this. A new set of better tires will run you ~$1200. Majority of drivers will be perfectly fine with the factory tires. If you want a better use of your money for performance put that $1200 into a heat exchanger, cat back exhaust and down pipes, or air intake.

Majority of drivers will be out performed by factory tires. Id say use that money on driver mods before car mods. Join some HPDEs. When it comes to car mods, I always say suspension/wheels first.
Loud, popping exhaust on a stock car... Smh

For street use I can't recommend Michelin PS4S tires enough. I'd go with those or PS5S's once they're readily available.
Absolutely a sold choice Haste.

Here is how I breakdown my tire suggestions:

Fair weather drivers: Michelin PS4S all day long.

Year round drivers: Contis Extreme Contact DWS06 Plus.

500whp/ 500wtq + drivers: Nitto 555rii, Falken Rt660, Nitto Nt01, Michelin Cup2, Toyo 888r

Sell the OE set and put proper tires on this car. The wheel torque the new Z puts out is too much for the stock tires. You will thank me later.

I remember that the initial Gen 2 G35 sedan, G37 sedan and coupe, and the 370z were notorious for eating tires.

You may not need to wait long before the factory rubber needs replacement!
