On the Supra forum they are saying the current model will stop in early 2026. So if this does make production were still a long way out.

Is it true? Is it really really coming out ?? Apparently it's apt !!! The legendary domestic supersport LFA II will appear in PHEV !!

While famous European brands such as Ferrari, McLaren, and Aston Martin are producing PHEV supersports one after another, even the Japanese cannot lose.

Lexus LFA II, which looks at the time of resurrection after more than 10 years. I will tell you everything you can see now about the model that reigns at the top of the Lexus sports model "F" and its successor!

The true identity of terrifying super sports
This Lexus car is one of the most special cars in the best car that chases many scoops. It is "LFA II" that challenges the world's luxury super sports head-on.

It is a model that makes you feel the revival of LFA, which was produced only 500 units worldwide for two years from December 2010, and the car name may be different, but for convenience, we will proceed with the story as "LFA II".

We have obtained quite specific information about this car, and the engine is V8, 4L twin turbo and generates 720ps / 70.0kgm.

It is said that a hybrid system will be added to this, so it is likely to become a PHEV. It becomes a monster PHEV sport with a system output of 950ps.

The drive system is transaxle + dry sump FR, which is also common with LFA.

The same is true for the front midship layout where the engine placed in the front is placed in the rear, but the difference is that the LFA II will be marketed as a catalog model rather than a limited edition car.

While LFA used to be a carbon chassis, LFAII is informed that it will use an aluminum chassis + carbon body, and it was conscious that it would be a catalog model rather than a limited production.

However, carbon body commercial cars are extremely rare and are usually used in racing cars, but that should be the case, and the LFA II is also developing a GT3 car dedicated to racing.

The "GR GT3 Concept" exhibited at this year's Tokyo Auto Salon is what it really is.

No detailed information has been disclosed, but this car (GR GT3 concept) is the GT3 vehicle of LFAII.

What is the price? When will the official announcement be ??
Let's get back to the commercial model.

The LFA II is developed based on the GA-L platform of TNGA used for Lexus LC etc., and the suspension will be a 4-wheel multi-link similar to the LC.

There was information that the development of the 720ps 4L, V8 twin turbo engine was temporarily frozen, but even at that time it has progressed to a considerable level, and now that it has resumed, it seems that the engine alone is nearing completion.

Of course, development is still going on, such as combination with a hybrid system and setting in actual driving, but the power unit is still in place.

The focus is on how sporty the PHEV can be, but Ferrari, McLaren, Aston Martin, etc. have already announced commercial models and are not defeated.

Production is planned to start in 2025, and the price is likely to be at the level of 35-40 million yen.

I hope that the car will overwhelm overseas players not only in driving but also in environmental performance.

Toyota GR (500ps class) EV sports (scheduled to appear in 2026)
●Development started with 2-seater and 4WD!

Toyota has also started development of EV sports to be released under the GR brand. The latest information is that the budget has been approved for the 2026 line-off.

A 2-seater pure sports 4WD with front and rear motors. The e-TNGA platform used in the bZ4X is likely to be adopted, but if it appears in 2026, it may become Toyota's first all-solid-state battery-equipped vehicle.

It is said that the maximum output is aimed at the 500ps class, and although there is a difference between FR and 4WD, the car class is an EV version of the Supra. I would like to expect an affordable price.

This may have already been brought up but insider A70TTR did hint that the next Supra will be done in house with a turbo V6 hybird under the hood.
