So I recently bought a set of Michelin Pilot Sport 4 S. 275/35/R19 100y front and 295/35/R19 104y in the rear.

My question is does it matter that they're R? And not ZR? I thought any tires with a speed rating over 150mpg would have to be labeled ZR. (100Y has a speed rating of 186mph) So I'm confused.

When I ordered these direct from Michelin these are what they had.

A "ZR" may sometimes appear in the size designation, as a sort of nod to the prior rating, but it will also be used in conjunction with a W or a Y. When a Y rating is enclosed in parentheses, it means that the tire is capable of speeds in excess of 186 mph.

Your PS4S is a Y rated tire '104Y' you're good to 186mph, go for it! ;)

Would love to see some pics once you’ve got them on the car. Figured I’d wear out the factory tires first, but then this size combo looks good for the factory (performance) wheels.

Did you consider 305/30/R19 for the rears at all?

Actually yes I wanted 305s originally but the Michelin rep I spoke with said they were sold out of those and 325s. 295s were the biggest I could get. I get them mounted Monday the 24th. And my car will be lowered on the 27th.

Hahah I was exactly like this when I bought my ps4s. I got the same size as oem and both ZR. You’re good

I'm really new to tyres... unfortunately.
Do you happen to know what the widest you can put on the stock rims would be?

This is a useful website, also has an offset calculator

https://www.1010tires.com/Tools/Tire-Size-Calculator

you can put a 295/35 on the stock (performance spec) 10 inch rear if you want, and c.jizzle has 275s on his 9.5 inch fronts (same as stock) which are clearly sweet as.
