^ Actually you probably would. Insurance companies (for example) have a limited range of colour descriptions*, so my 200sx which Nissan officially calls "burgundy" is labelled as "red" on the insurance company's system. Probably the same on the government vehicle registration system too.
* There's no way they're going to bother with the near-infinite variety of manufacturers' wacky colour names, so they stick to generalised colours.
