No. Regardless of the current economic situation caused by COVID and our shit government there would still only be 240 Protos built. That's not a supply chain issue. Therefore, it's just straight greediness on the dealer's part.
Yup. Good example: Honda Civic Type R. Here in WA State, no way could you get one at MSRP. And that was during the good ol' days before all this current drama.

I'm very grateful that the Proto Z repulses me! Hopefully things can straighten out a bit to get enough inventory out there to reduce the shenanigans.

I doubt it will end soon. Maybe 2 years out for things to settle . Once prices go up they never really come down:( Take my Corvette C8 waiting list for example. I waited almost a year and a half to get it and when I took delivery the dealer told me his list was now 3 years out. Just crazy stuff!

The Australian VINS should all be in already and earlier build dates then the US, so they will be here sooner. :)
Yes but only Protos..not coupes, which is what I ordered…Money is getting tighter and the wait is draining me.
I think fir my sanity I need to pull out

Yeah, the general economic conditions and interest rate rises here in Oz, will mean there may be some changes in demand. My gut feel is that there has been a slight softening in the market. That said people do take a little time to adjust to the new norm, so maybe only a temporary lull???

Not gonna flip it @trackrstZ! Flippers Piss me off🤬😡! My C8 won’t be flipped either. Paid MSRP for it. And yes I drive and am gonna drive this Z. It’s sad to me when peeps just let them sit …they were made to enjoy in this life!
Awesome glad to hear, driven like it’s supposed to. Enjoy and keep us updated on your upgrades.

I got the call from my salesperson at my dealership that my Proto Spec Z is in production this month and should be delivered by Mid September. $500 deposit in and 10k non negotiable ADM. so I guess I’m gonna pay it. Reluctantly! Will the 240 proto’s be numbered I’m wondering?? Can I tell by my VIN # shown here??
Congrats! I would have def considered the 10k markup so don't feel cheated by it and enjoy the ride

The only reason I’m willing to pay 10k markup is the fact that I am a serous Z fan. I spent 6 years building my 71 240z restomod and I have a 90 300zx. Need the New Z for the stable to complete the package! I have never paid over MSRP till now. A few pics for all the Z fans out there😳

Nice 240Z, but I'm also impressed with your garage workspace. A lift and all. I spent this past weekend trying to organize my garage workspace, still a bloody mess but getting there.

Just talked to my Salesguy at local Nissan Dealership and he informed me that his dealership is getting just (1) (My order)Proto spec and nothing else for the foreseeable future. This dealership is the largest multi-location Nissan Dealer in Indiana too. Not good news for Nissan Z fans!

consider yourself fortunate then...

so only 240 being made, minus executives, dealers/flippers, their friends and family reserving one...say half to two thirds left. that's 120 to 160 split for 50 states, so basically about 2-3 per state.

i may be being pessimistic, but it's the world we live in...

i dunno there is literally nothing special in proto spec unfortunately. its like a "unique skin" in a videogame, pretty much useless. they could do at least one real unique detail.. like bigger turbos or unique wheels or bumper lips, but theres nothing apart of higher price😕

After I paid my deposit my final price populated per salesperson. OMG. 65k for a Z seems insane! What else could I buy for that amount? Is it worth it?? Thoughts?
