One is a family sedan and the other is a sports sedan. Lexus IS350 over the ES350 unless you need that much more leg room.

Model 3s look good imo. The updated IS is one of the best looking cars out there. Imho the Challenger is the best looking car on the road.

I've been considering one, but it seems there are almost 183 or so repair issues per 100 cars, which is way higher than average. Battery replacement is at 2-300,000 miles and any major collisions (or if it's just sitting there or charging) could trigger a massive thermal event, such as a lithium-fed fire.

How do the number of Tesla car fires compare to that of other cars?

There is not a lot of data about the frequency of electric vehicle fires in general, let along Tesla car fires. That said, according to an IIHS noncrash fire report, the relative claim frequencies (i.e. how often an insurance claim is made relative to insured vehicle years) for Model S and X fires that were not the result of a collision or vandalism are the highest of their categories (including ICE cars).

:), care to explain why ? to me model 3 just isn't a looker and the basic model has too short a range.
Correct, the Model 3 offers nothing desireable to me from an aesthetic standpoint.

I shopped the the 2JZ-powered 1st Gen Lexus IS300 back in 2001. I loved that car, and regret not owning one.

I'm not old enough to own an ES.
