Guys let's not build too much into the 61k price seen in Japan. An example, right now a 2022 Nissan Murano lists for 3,980,150 yen, that equates to $34,848 US dollars. The actual list price for a 2922 Nissan Murano in the US is $32,950.

So, we need to wait to see. But that is only 2k different. Hmmm
I would agree that that the reporting article probably did foul up and the 61k is for the top trim, the proto. That would make a lot more sense seeing as how it’s a limited production.
There are several comments on the Car Scoops article calling out the author for their mistake. The $60k is for the limited editions Proto spec. It ALSO includes 10% sales tax. The price w/o tax is about $55k USD.

This person (who seems to be correct more than he isn't, so far) says the JDM pricing will be around 4.8 million yen for the base up to 6.3 million for the top ST trim (basically our Performance). Taking out the 10% sales tax, that puts the Performance trim around $49k USD and (I'm guesstimating here) $43k USD for the Sport trim.

Going by the example from @bybepl above, we're now looking at around $41k Sport and $47k performance here in the United States, which is pretty much where everyone has been estimating.

Now we wait...
even at 61k for the highly limited proto does not seem unreasonable. that car, if left stock and well cared for will only go up in value.

that would only be $14‐17 more than the usa performance trim based on straight money conversion.

heck the stealerships here may mark them up more than that...

As stated previously, not a 1:1 conversion so take it for what it is, but here's the latest update from Creative Trend regarding pricing for Japan which they claim is official.

That would make the Proto about 68k Au….but as you say it’s never a straight swap.
im guessing another 10k of top of that because of government taxes and of course transport cost from Japan to Aus

prices look similar to what the US was expecting though

Did this get posted somewhere else? Pricing info is still very favorable in comparison to the Supra, should translate similarly to world markets.

https://www.carscoops.com/2022/04/n...se-v6-only-1900-more-than-255hp-gr-supra-2-0/
The JPN Yen pricing includes a "consumption tax" of 10%, so in theory the pre-tax (MSRP) conversion would range from ~$37k-$45k. This undercuts the 3.0 Premium Supra by -8k for comp fully loaded model, but only +$3k vs 2.0 Supra on a base to base comparison.

They have prices on there- no differences in price between 6MT and 9AT.
Base- yen converts to $40,874 USD
Version S- $47,286
Version ST- $50,400
I think if it's for a US market, it will be about 3% less:
Base- $39,647
Version S- $45,867
Version ST-$48,880

The 3% number derived from pricing Japan Canon R5 and R6 vs USA Canon R5 and R6 cameras.

Canon R6 is $2,633 from Japan and $2500 from USA store: 5% difference
Canon R5 is $3971 from Japan and $3900 from USA store: 2% difference

This is where I'd put my bets.

It's about 3k off across the board from what I heard back in the day.
