Ok I figured the ECUTEK would hit the wallet a little bit.I'm getting quoted around 1500 for the EcuTek tune - this includes the hardware and some time on the dyno (stock and with parts) for a custom time
The same garage is quoting me 125/hr for installing any parts like the CBE / DP.
I found another garage which only charges 100/hr for labor - will likely get my parts installed at this garage and do the Tune with the first garage.
I'm CAD, but I'd assume the prices, at least hourly rates are similiar.Ok I figured the ECUTEK would hit the wallet a little bit.
Are you figuring around $1k to install the exhaust / downpipes?
And your numbers….are they US or Canadian prices? Lol
Thanks for the breakdownI'm CAD, but I'd assume the prices, at least hourly rates are similiar.
I already got the CBE installed last week at the garage who charges 100/hr.
Was 1.6hrs so like 160.
(Actually going back today for an adjustment as my driver side outlet got shifted [totally normal for breaking in a cbe])
This same garage said it would probably be 3-4 he's for the downpipe install
He's done them on the Q's and this was the time taken - note, mechanic does not drop engine.
The other garage which charges $125
Said they'd probably drop the engine and be done in 1.5hrs - 2hrs.
Plus can check out some other engine components with the engine drop.
The EcuTek tune is static $1500
I think he mentioned it included 3hrs of Dyno (they charge $175/hr for any dyno time)
An hour in stock or something and two hours with the parts for a custom tune.
They offered additional dyno time at $125/hr to fine tune the custom maps if I needed.
Yea, that's key - finding a shop that has done em before on the Qs.Thanks for the breakdown
I was thinking the down pipes would be an all day job but 3-4 hours seems more likely than 8 especially for a shop that’s done them before.
I’m going to call a shop today to see what they quote me at.
In a side note, how do you like your new exhaust?
