Do you think Nissan is overhyping the car's reveal?

I would rather Nissan under promise and over deliver. Unlike with Toyota where they really overhyped a hardtop Z4 with a Supra badge slapped onto the rear. Such a let down...

I think they’re under hyping it if anything haha
Agree, since everyone keeps bringing up the Supra it's not like we're seeing:

Non-stop spy shots over a period of three years.
Countless interviews with Tada-san.
Press release of the camo car.
New teasers every week for a month prior to the debut.

I haven't heard much from Nissan about the Z, I thought they were being pretty quiet about it.
The only thing I've been hearing and seeing is the new Nissan Rouge

I agree! I love the proto. I hear the wheel gap may be higher then the proto. I hope not as it’s the perfect amount of gap and I wouldn’t need to car to lower it.

only thing I would want gone it the fair lady on the rear.

On the "overhyping" question - TTAC has an interesting piece about the new Z that highlights one type of overhyping Nissan's PR department went for:
Nissan says in its press release that the seventh-generation car rides on an “all-new” platform, not the current FM platform, but a PR rep told me the platform is carryover, with the car being 80 percent “all-new.”
Great way to lose credibility with your potential customers, Nissan. As one commenter, Corey Lewis, points out:
80 percent all new*
*platform carryover
*engine direct from Infiniti, new for -this car model-
*old switches
*center gauge pods look very old (2008)
*door panel entirely unchanged since 2008

“80 percent”

I'd add based on the photo above that the seats look identical too - I certainly hope they are not, the standard seats on the 370 blew chunks.

Nissan better deliver in spades when it comes to driving characteristics and engagement with the new Z if it wants to live this kind of puffery down.
