Anyone have any experience with this Tuner or put one on your Z or Infinity yet? My son put one on his John Coopesrwork Mini and picked up 50HP.

From all the options available seems to be the most cost effect performance boost & less invasive on the car.

Power gains of up to 100hp and 120tq to the wheels on a stock Nissan Z
The JB4 performance tuner for the new 2023+ Nissan Z is plug and play and attaches to two easy-to-access sensors in the engine bay and works with your factory DME tuning to remap your boost, timing, and fueling for optimal performance and reduced turbo lag. The JB4 manipulates the ECU boost control signals allowing it to modify boost levels but does not manipulate the ECU manifold boost reference, allowing your ECU to properly map timing and fueling for the higher boost levels. The end result is something that runs as smoothly as stock only with higher boost targets under heavy throttle. JB4 features a 64mhz processor allowing sensors to be sampled 1000 times per second using dedicated 10 bit digital to analog converters, ensuring smooth and powerful performance.

The JB4 adds OBDII CANbus for increased performance mapping, a variety of useful features such as data logging, boost by gear, optional fuel control wires for AFR adjustment, and on-the-fly map changes. JB4 is simply the most capable tuning system available for the Nissan Z.

The higher the octane the higher you can safely raise the boost pressure over stock and the larger the power gain.

Wirelessly connect the JB4 to your Bluetooth 4.0 compatible iOS and Android device via the JB4 Mobile connect kit, or to your Windows laptop with the BMS data cable. Both options allow you to record and analyze vehicle and tuning data, change JB4 performance maps, and update JB4 firmware as we release free newer versions with updates, more powerful maps, and new features under development. A separate JB4 Mobile app purchase is also required.

They have been around for a while. I was looking at this as well. Boost in motion who is in the Infiniti has had this. Lots of YouTube videos. Looks pretty easy to install. If you worry about warranty, then this is recommended rather than the ecutek tune.

Ecutek tune is best. But, This is a great reversible piggy back.
I have had it on 2 bmw platforms w zero issues and a lot of bang for the buck.

make sure you use the maps they recommend with YOUR fuel and mods. Don’t push maps or you will lean out

they are pretty good about reviewing logs for you

A dealer might not find it or know it was there if removed but the Ecu will tattle on you with logs of higher boost and fuel trims- if they dig in

Yes, this exactly.
ECUTEK is by far the best for max performance. You do have a 5 year power train warranty. With ECUTEK, they will find out and now if anything goes wrong the engine, you’re on your own which can cost a whole lotta $$$ for a new engine.

I’ll like to play it safe and recommend a JB4 for the first few years. You can still get nice gains.

Highly recommend a custom tune on map 6 over any of the OTS maps. Most of the OTS maps seem to give you a very bumpy powerband (on other platforms at least).

JB4 is solid at least for Bimmers, had the N54 before. Not the best for gains but reliable and can easily flash back to stock. Not familiar with it for other platforms like Nissans. What about Nisstune? Ecutek is very nice also

I had JB4 on my 2016 GTI.
It added significant power and torque, it was very obvious that the car was making more power.
My GTI was in the shop 10 times for warranty work, nice to be able to remove it for dealership service.

I'd run one on the Z until warranty is up.

Hopefully they will refine the curve, just drops at 5700 RPM. Good for lighting up the tires. Is it the down pipes are the bottleneck when pushing increasing PSI?

Interested in getting this for my Z - would love some feedback for folks with this (@Marshall58of240)?

Getting full downpipes and catback exhaust done in the coming weeks - would the JB4 remove any CEL?

Is there a map that considers full downpipes & exhaust on 91 octane?

That tune is rough, all over the place, needs more work!

The weird thing about this graph for me, is that the stock numbers on 93 are pretty low. After watching some YouTube videos, the WHP and torque are higher by a lot.
Not sure if it’s tampered to advertise a big gain when really it’s a just a few HP?
