Confirmed via 12:30 in this video from the guy speaking which is Jonathan Buhler, Nissan Senior Product Specialist. 9AT will have an active exhaust system that opens when in Sport mode. 6MT unfortunately does not have Sport mode or active exhaust and apparently will be quieter like the Z in the video.

If there’s no sport setting on manual to open the exhaust valve you’d think it would be permanently open.
This would be my preference, but I guess not everyone would want that ?‍♂

I disabled vacuum to the active exhaust on my current car after a day or so of owning it so that it's always open, and will just swap the exhaust out on the Z right when I get it unless the Nismo sounds significantly better.

Interesting that there's no mention of launch control at all in the "leaked" Canadian price ordering guide, but they show it available for the Sport A/T during reservation. It only shows launch control as standard for the Performance model on the US specs from August but I've noticed some other inconsistencies between various spec sheets. You would think that they would put (9AT) next to launch control if it only applied to the auto, but I really don't think I've ever seen a M/T with actual launch control. How would that even work, just hold revs for you and activate on the clutch dump? Unless the joke here is, "every manual has launch control" ?‍♂

My Evo has launch control. Like an archaic 2006 version of it but factory nonetheless.

Strange that there's all these inconsistencies. I noticed there was several other options/specs missing from the Canadian price guide though so I wouldn't go completely go off that. Here is the video of a manual Z launching though so it does have it. Now I don't know if the Sport will have it or not I kind of feel like that would be a Performance trim only feature.

EDIT: Nevermind video of the Gun Metallic Z launching at the Tokyo Auto Salon was a 9AT.
