I'm curious about the touch and feel of the interior. Are the door trims/dash hard plastics? Is it identical to the the previous model?

Way back when the original BRZ was coming out, I wanted to check fit and also measure the cargo area to see if it could take a bicycle, etc. (it does nicely, btw). It was a similar situation - roped off car at 'local' show, but obviously had been open to media folks. I was told no access, with the justification being 'if I let you, then ...', which was actually understandable. So, I offered to come back right at closing time when nobody would see, and even if they did the staffers could just book it out :) It actually worked and I got a few minutes to check out what I wanted  Might be worth a shot if you can swing the time.
Ha, that's not a bad idea. Trying to push it a bit into the evening tonight, worst case if it fails I'll maybe swing back on the last day and see if they're a little looser with restrictions.

Rumour has it the blue is already on it's way back to Japan..
Thought so too, but looks like it's out west - https://www.nissanzclub.com/forum/t...san-z-at-z-car-garage-in-norcal-on-10-23.607/

Re: getting close, did a little poking around on IG and it looks like the car is elevated on a platform and a bit out of reach. Still going to try, though - one never knows. The elevation might work to advantage a little with regards to seeing underneath, and maybe I can sweet talk my way into at least seeing the dash/interior.

Alright, I'm gonna swing by either tonight or Wednesday - depending on how aggressive work is today.

Anyway, I'm happy to be an extension of folks here on the forum that haven't had a chance to see the car in person yet, so let me know if there's anything you want me to try to poke around for/ask/take a picture of/whatever. Not sure who from Nissan will be there, but can go in with a list and see what I can find out.

@trackratZ I know you and a few others—myself included—have been really curious about chassis/suspension, so I'm gonna try to capture some undercarriage photos.

@West Aussie I know you're bullish on the yellow, so I'll do what I can to get a few more photos of it if that's helpful? Realize we've seen it at a million different angles, but maybe I can try to get up close and personal with the paint. I have an iPhone 13 Pro, so gonna put the camera to work.

The wild card for me is sitting inside of it - I'm doubtful they'll let me, but I'm gonna try to butter up whoever is there and play the angle that I'm Andre the Giant reborn (6'6"), it's a dream car, and I want to ensure I fit in it. Worth a shot, right?
Thanks so much….that would be great!

Photos to come, but some interesting tidbits a product specialist told me (talked his ear off for awhile). Trying to write them down while swirling in head:

- they moved the engine back some to help with weight distribution - should make a difference
- he didn’t know anything about suspension etc. might try to sneak some photos but there are multiple people hovering and he laughed every time I asked to get closer
- It sounds like heads up display is still possible. Said the tech is across other cars and no reason why it can’t be lifted over to this. Didn’t know for sure but he has a hunch
- Nissan hasn’t told them hardly anything which is wild. Pressed him a few times for things like wheel offset, etc. and he didn’t know
- the yellow is what I would call like, springtime Easter pastel. Photos don’t really come across well imo but I’m trying. The chapstick is helping a lot. I see some pearl tho and I bet this thing looks heavenly in the sun
- the katana brings it together. It’s matte. The contrast with the black roof - which is glossy as heck and I love it - looks lovely. Strong contrast
- he said since the car has been so well received, he thinks NISMO version coming (!). Keep talking it up y’all. “There’s been a lot of talk about it but I think it’s gonna happen”
- it’s got a nice front diffuser of sorts that’s matte black, never noticed it until now (got photos)
- rear wheels need like, a baby spacer to sit more flush (got a photo)
- the hood looks so sexy in person. Same with the front end really
- I think us taller folks can fit ok. If there’s a will, there’s a way

I’m doing my best army man impression but snapping some photos of the underside in the rear! Guy is laughing at me, don’t care. Hoping some of our photoshop ninjas can do some adjustments to lighten up a little then we can have a field day assessing

I'm staying up for this. No pressure. Don't disappoint.

Lol heading home shortly, I’ll figure out a way to upload an album - would rather have too much for us to work with versus not enough. Probably took 40-50 photos

I would like to know if the rear hatch contains a full size spare like the 370z. I can’t seem to find any info. The specs don’t seem to say one way or another. If they ditched the spare it could save 20-30 lbs.

Funny you ask that - when the driver side door was open, I got a photo of the tire PSI etc. sticker. Where it says "spare", it says "none." So, best I can tell from this model, it's gone!
