Same S58 as G80/G82 under the hood, tuned to 455hp. RWD.
I don't think the 455HP figure has been confirmed anywhere only speculated at this stage but that figure either way I believe would be too high for the regular M2, the M2 Comp possibly but definitely not the normal M2.

I have to agree. I was quoting the info provided on BP from the G87 and future model threads. Not sure where they came up with the 455hp figure, as the most recent power figures actually referenced in that thread are 410hp for the base and 430hp for the Comp. I believe they are getting that information from here, or from somewhere similar: https://www.autodaily.com.au/2022-bmw-m2-readies-for-launch-this-year/

410/430 sound too low to me. I believe that we'll see something closer to the figures below. This is completely ignoring the F87 base to Comp to CS power bumps since originally the N55 was used, and the % increase for Comp to CS seems like the exception.

F87 Comp (405hp) has a 8.78% decrease in power from F82 Comp (444hp): (1-0.0878)*444 = 405.02
G82 Comp (503hp) has a 6.34% increase in power over base G82 (473hp): 473*1.0634 = 502.99

G87 base: (1-0.0878)*473 = 431.47
G87 Comp: (1-0.0878)*503 = 458.84
431.47*1.0634 = 458.83

This is assuming the % decrease from G82 to G87 is the same as it is from F82 to F87. I calculated it another way and came up with around 427/455, so I'm guessing we'll see between 427-432hp for the base and 455-460hp for the Comp. To me the base M2 still has to outperform the M240i in a straight line during independent testing or they will have a field day. Not sure it's able to do that with only 410hp+6MT(or auto)+RWD considering the F87 CS lays down the same 1/4 time with 444hp and presumably less weight. Another factor that may allow them to advertise these models with less hp would be marketed vs actual bhp of the S58 compared to the S55 but am unsure of the significance.

It will probably grow on you over time like with most new designs. I didn't like the G29 Z4 until I saw a few in person. Sometimes pictures just doesn't do the car any justice.
That front end is a sin......and I'm not even religious.

I'd 2nd guess the Z if the Z4 got a manual and a more "8 Series" looking headlights, hell the new 2 has better lights (that's not saying much) - the lights on that the Z4's front kill it for me.
